Sad day for Saturn collective members

Jun 01, 2009 11:23

As part of GMs bankruptcy, GM is shutting down Saturn.
I currently own my second Saturn. While customer service the last few years has declined, i still enjoyed the car and the 'collective' and 'cult' jokes about having a Saturn.
By next year, this will be a thing of the past.
Now its off to Ford to get a new car next time I need one.

It may not be all over - Roger Penske is looking to make Saturn it's own company, and Magna - who just bought a 20% stake in Opel, and will be running the the operations, is looking at producing Opels in canada to supply an independent Saturn(since everything that Saturn now sells is an Opel, except for the Outlook). GM would still have some interest in Opel, but likely little or none in Saturn.

Could be interesting, a car brand with no factories.
