So my sister kind of botched up her iPod. Something about using iTunes and then selecting "Uitwerpen" on a playlist. And poof! All her content was gone! And iTunes refused to recognize the iPod again. As it claimed the only was was to reinitialize it again, but of course all data will really be lost that way. Stop the iPod service under Windows and plug in the iPod and it will be recognized as a removable HD. Browse to ipoddirectory/iPod_Control/Music/ and there will be all the MP3's, but with scrambled filenames.

Download all the files to your PC and use a tool like MediaMonkey to rebuild all the filenames from the ID3 data in the files.

I guess Apple likes setting all your files and folders with a hidden attribute by default...
