I didn't really try to leave the City while it was... moving, I suppose you could say, but from everything I read and saw on the Network it didn't seem like the other worlds were any safer than the City ( Read more... )

all's well that ends well, curse [affected], stories of the city, fourth wall destruction, in love with life

I was going to start by writing about the play-- about A Midsummer Night's Dream, but I'm not sure where to begin with it.

The fairy queen took an ass to her bed, and the king laughed and laughed, and what fools these mortals be.

That's the one. Though I was going to write about putting it on, here and at home-- not the story of the play.

You've never had one? Oh, man, you're missing out. They're like...kind of like two pieces of cardboard with fake jelly sandwiched between them and hard neon pink icing and sprinkles on top.

[Once he finds himself back in the City, it only seems sensible to go to NeilandTodd's apartment (Justin is too afraid to go back to the one Shilo should be in, just in case she's not).

[It's not like Neil has been waiting by the door or anything, but the thought that he might have a visitor-- a physical visit, as it were-- has crossed his mind. So he looks pleased but not wholly surprised when he opens the door.]

It's good to see you!

[That gets raised eyebrows, not quite a panicked look but not the pleased one. He nods and steps aside.]

All right. C'mon in...

It is...very kind of you...to greet us. What can you tell me about this...City?

About the City? It might take longer to explain than you'll be here, really. It's a place in between worlds-- a lot of people from different worlds live here, but sometimes things like this happen and a lot more people come, but only for a couple of days.
