A pain in the ass...and the left rib cage...

You wouldn't expect a colonoscopy to hurt in the left side of the ribs, but that's apparently where one of the sharp turns in the large intestine sits...just under the ribs on the left. But I got through all right, impressed the doctor and the nurses, and walked out fully conscious and able to go to rehearsal tonight. The procedure started at 2: ( Read more... )

"Whew" on the no-cancer thing. That is good news.

I heard on NPR about a new "virtual colonoscopy" (series of hi-def computer xrays or something), that's cheaper and less invasive and supposedly 90% as effective as the real thing. Since I'm symptom-free (knock wood) that may be the way I'll go.
