This is an Author Note for Precious Things: LegacyI'm keeping it separate from the story itself because I prefer to keep any distracting/extra text out of the fic post itself, just for the sake of letting readers finish the story without immediately being thrown at something else. =) Also, I kinda of blather on here and I'm shy about exposing

I'm pretty sure you're right about Amanda creating the roses. It might have been the Vulcan Academy Murders? I know there were two books set on Vulcan, and they completely contradicted each other. I think the one with Amanda's roses is the one with the Vulcan Italian restaurant that has a number of dishes that would kill a human.

That's what we thought over on dreamwidth too, but as it turns out, it may just be Spock's World. I'm looking through it now!

And, it seems to at least be confirmed in that book that she tends to roses in her garden on Vulcan. Whew!

"We have a gardener who comes in and takes care of things, but he's best with the native Vulcan plants, the succulents over there, and the sandplants. I don't think Vulcans really understand abotu roses they think they're delicate. But to bring out the best in them, you have to be mean to them." She clicked the shears meaningfully.

Edit: And rereading the DW comment by melannen, it's in Demons it first comes up.

She tells me now that a genus of rose has been developed which can withstand life on Vulcan.
