"Yep. Ironhide requested me for his guard duty rounds today."
The teenager smiled, bouncing slightly in anticipation. Lennox frowned some more, Not Quite Getting It.
"Specifically."
"Uh huh!"
Sam grinned some more. Lennox blinked, then resumed staring. Ironhide rolled up to them both, engine rumbling loudly.
"Ready, Sam?" Though Ironhide was gruff with everyone - just as he was now with Sam - he'd never been thrilled about the presence of civilians on the base. He respected what the boy had done for them - twice over now - but Sam wasn't trained which showed in many ways. And.. And yet

Movieverse (as Haldir did not go to Helm's Deep in the books)haearnmouseJanuary 18 2010, 21:36:15 UTC
Haldir does not like the idea of taking a dwarf through Lórien. He does not like it during the first night spent up in the eaves of the tree, even though the dwarf does not even try to touch his blindfold. He does not like it when they cross the Silverlode, and he does not like it when his cousin departs with the Fellowship. And the dwarf, waving cheekily at him, is the last thing he sees of the group

The trials are over and as Lord High Protector, Megatron is obliged to hand out the prizes to the winners with kindness and good grace. So he smiles and keeps his the fires in his optics banked and cool under the cheers of the audience and the laughter of his brother, who will remain happy and unknowing until it is far, far too late.
For soon, things will change. And Megatron makes certain to note the name of the gloating yellow mech who stole the victory from his own champion in such a stunning upset.
The strange, small ship suddenly squalls in fear on all channels and the sound of a terrified sparkling fills the universe, loud and clear.
Astrotrain barely has time to shut down his cannons and jettison his power cells in a desperate bid for surrender as Xantium tears through the ranks of the Decepticons with terrifying ferocity, batting aside any standing between them as though they were mere afterthoughts, an elemental force of nature gone berserk.
Somehow, "It didn't look like a ship-sparkling!" just doesn't seem to be sufficient an excuse.
"Ellen?!" Dean is staring and sputtering but he's not reaching for any weapons so Castiel decides he doesn't need to try and do something about the angel that just walked in the room. Maybe. Yet. There's something about her he can't quite pin down though and it leaves him feeling vaguely uneasy, which is a feeling he never likes. It's one of the feelings he knows best, and Castiel can't help but wish he knew other, lighter feelings better.
"Don't you worry, none, darlin'." The angel smiles at him, and it takes Castiel a moment to realize that the expression is neither manufactured nor false. "God figured He needed someone to kick some butt and set things right. So He picked me to send back." The grin grows wider. "Best decision He ever made."

Oh yes, things will change.
And for this insult, there will be a reckoning.

I just giggled at that. "Kindness and good grace" are not precisely where Megatron's talents lie.
