He remembers giving her his most serious look and shaking his head at her, while informing her gravely of how illogical the entire concept was. It was but one of the passing episodes of his childhood which highlighted the differences between his home planet and his mother's heritage, he thinks.
Standing still and quiet in this bustling flea market on Earth, grief still numb and yet sharp, Spock stares at the bright red carps dancing through delicate blue waves etched on the tiny teacup. And he wonders if that's what one might feel like, where they cradling the universe in their hands.

The alien who walked out of the cupboard last week is still on the island, the inhabitants of the castle having yet to figure out a way to send him back home. He has been calm and quiet during his time with them, unafraid and full of wonder at the powers and abilities displayed by those who have offered him a home until he can be returned to where he belongs

Christine giggles a bit then stops, reminding herself somewhat fuzzily that giggling while wielding laser scalpels is extremely unprofessional and may unsettle the patient, besides. The alien desperately not squirming on the operation table ponders ways to 1) beg for forgiveness, 2) find a way to immunize these humans from the effect of hir's pheromones and 3) wonders exactly when the pain went away and oh my, has hir been cure? which naturally means 4) truly, this amazing human entity must be godly on some level, so have cured such a horrendous ailment under such conditions
