how many lokis is too many lokis?
I asked this same question but with Steve, after watching Endgame. :D Answer: this many Lokis. *opens arms wide to include the alligator*
Quick thoughts on Loki, eps 1-5:
~ I'm very much enjoying the ride.
~ Every new episode I'm like, 'what crazy new time travel/TVA/variant/sacred timeline/alt timeline shenanigan thing are we going to learn about today?'
~Loved the reveal that all the workers at the TVA are variants! So much potential for fun weird stories.
~Thoroughly charmed by Loki/Sylvie. Fact is, I ADORE Sylvie. Everything about her. But the funny thing about Loki/Sylvie is how the few articles I've read about it people are like....sure we can go there why not.
~Also enjoying the philosophical 'learning to truly love and accept yourself' deeper meaning. We all have our struggles, but Loki has had god-level issues with self-hatred, not helped by his history on asgard. So glad he's working them out!
~Did not expect to really click into Loki/Mobius but that hug in the most recent episode got me.
~Each time I hear about the covid-19 Delta variant I wish it were a Loki variant
~Someone free Throg! FREE HIM. I WANTS HIM HE IS MINE.
~ I have QUESTIONS. But most of my questions are fun questions. Like, musing on how turning left instead of right one day might cause a nexus event but Steve going back in time to be with Peggy did not cause a nexus event. (at least as far as I can tell) FASCINATING. But mostly I don't really care what they do with time travel on the show, it's all grist for the mill as they say. I'm eating it all up.
~They don't know the Loki variant is Sylvie at first...But Sylvie escaped the TVA as a child. Do they not know she's the same variant? Something does not add up there! I'm guessing Ravonna was less than honest about letting the child Sylvie escape.
~I said at the beginning the TVA felt cult-like in their devotion to the sacred timeline and the way they spoke about the timekeepers and I stand by that. I loved seeing Hunter B-15 wake up (<3 Wunmi!) and seeing Mobius realize they'd been lied to.
~ I want to see more of the Loki variants but what we got so far was fun. I would like to know more about Kid Loki, and what happened with him and his Thor.
~Would also like to see Jotun Loki, but they don't seem to want to show anything but human-looking people on this series (except for Alligator Loki and THROG. *Free him*). They reference other species! But everyone looks human. Probably a budget thing. But it's a shame imo.
~Which leads me to wonder who the villain is. I've read many suspect it's actually another Loki, which would be interesting. Most think it's Kang. The name Kang makes me think of Kang in Star Trek so I've been expecting a Klingon. Which would be awesome and hilarious.
~looking forward to the final episode! I want literal fireworks.

In other news -- I'm stupid busy at work. I fell off my horse and you can see video of it on instagram and fb. In the last month I've: a) been to a house party with lots of people, b) been to an outside event with lots of people, c) went to my office for the first time and saw people. I got hugged a lot at all these things! So many people! I'm not ready for all this human contact. But it keeps happening.
I also watched all of Hannibal and all of Agents of Shield, but those will have to wait for anther day's post. Dreamwidth Post |
