Winry is walking down the street, mostly just going along with little mind for what to do. She spots Ed, however, pausing a moment. Is it hers? Could he have somehow been thrown here instead of...?
Ed, preoccupied with his hand, almost misses her. As it is, it was the glimpse of a familiar color combination that made him raise his head to look at her.
"Oh. Uh, hi?" He's now fighting the urge to hide his hand behind his back, remembering full well what his own Winry's reactions to damage to his automail were.
No, he's too old...but an Ed is an Ed and it's nice to see the face, at the very least. "Hey, there. Haven't seen you before." SHe walks over, eyes flickering to the hand behind his back but not asking just yet.
"I already said it was an unforeseen side effect of a LOL ending! It was a bodyswap one. I happened to have been in the middle of writing something when our bodies were popped into the right locations. And well..." Ed just let that trail off since Winry could see the results.
She grumbles more. "Well, you shouldn't have gotten LOLed in the first place!" Yes she's looking for an excuse to stay mad at him. He wrecked her automail! DX Okay, so it's not hers, but the same principle applies!
"Not our fault we ended up standing in the wrong spot at the wrong time. And would you prefer this happened to her fingers instead!? Human flesh is a bit more delicate," he snaps.
"And we can talk about you paying for it later~" Oh, she's mean.
They come up to a portal and Winry drags him through. Immediately they're assulted by the dry heat and smells of metal and oil. The room itself is of a decent size, and outside there's the sound of someone else tempering some metal, most likely the automail technician WInry's appreticing under. "Come on, sit down and we'll get you out fo here quick."

"Well, the Nexus is a big place..." He catches the look towards where he was hiding his hand.
"It's not my fault," he says just a biiiiit defensively.

Ed sat down, looking around curiously, since his own Winry hadn't been in Rush Valley the last time she'd done repairs on him.
"Um, paying in installments rather than trying to get the money together all at once, would be the way to go, I think."

Ed shucked off his jacket, letting it stay stuck between him and the back of his seat.

"I know. Not your fault." He gave her a weak smile.

Ed mentally converted that into Nexus money in his head. "That ought to be doable."
