It's been four months. Four months to the day since he first found the Nexus. Although Ed didn't move in until almost a month after that due to a lack of opportunity to do so sooner.

Ed found himself feeling inclined to just lay on the couch and stare at the ceiling while letting his mind wander, going over the events of the past few months. Or ( Read more... )

Faye, still in her LOL'd gargoyle form, spots the apartment complex from the wing. She guesses she'll visit Ed while she's in the area, so she glides down towards his window, and lands on the wall beside it with a thud, digging in her claws so she doesn't slide off.

Ed yelps and sits bolt upright at the sound of the thud. Once he calmed down enough to realize that no, the apartment wasn't under attack, he went over to the window and opened it.

"...You realize that the ground is right under you, right? Why are you clinging to the wall? I've been in and out my bedroom window plenty of times, and I can assure you that there aren't any booby traps."

Meanwhile, he wonders who his visitor is. While the smell is familiar, it's also not quite right.

The voice is definitely familiar. Her face hasn't changed too. "I know. Hi, Ed."

"Then why are you hanging onto my wall?" Ed asks, bemused. "My alt is probably going to wonder about the holes if I don't have Al fix them before the next time he wanders by. And what happened to you this time?"

He moves out of the way for in case she decides to climb in through the window.

"I guess so. Never really noticed." Ed shrugs.

"She's like a sister, then?"

Ed nods. "Yeah. Okay, Al and I fought over who'd marry her when we grew up but that was when I was somewhere around the age of five."

Ed plops his behind on a chair. "It also requires good drawing skills. Because if you draw the array wrong... Well, if you're lucky, it'll just won't work right. If you aren't, you're fucked."

Ed draws an upside-down triangle with a line through it, separating the tip from the rest of the triangle, then a triangle that's basically a flipped version of the first one. "These represent earth and air respectively."

He draws two more triangles, one right side up and the other upside-down. "These are fire and water."

Faye watches with mild interest. "I see. Pretty cool."

"Anyway, there's more symbols, but they aren't needed for what I'm going to be drawing so I'm skipping those."

Next, Ed carefully draws two circles within each other and what appears to be two squares at right angles to each other, contained by the outer circle. "So. What do you see?"

((Yay. Wasn't sure you'd find this thread since you logged out of AIM before I finished the comment I was working on. Ed just drew this thing, by the way.))

((Had to sleep right away, there. I know what you mean, I've seen it.))

She peers at it. "An alchemical array, right?"
