She hops up onto a chair as she listens, one hand going toward Ed as he protests. It takes her a moment before she fully catches the meaning of all the words, but then she nods. "Lex has trouble with eggs too."
But then Lex has trouble with nearly everything that isn't microwave ready.
"I suppose that next, you're going to tell her that sometimes I cheat by bringing home food that has most of the stuff in a box so that I just need to add water or whaterever?" Ed sarcastically asks his brother.
His attention goes back to Icy. "I usually do that when it's my turn to cook and I'm running late."
"Is that a bad thing?" She looks back at him puzzledly, her hand cupping around him but not touching him as her protective instincts show up. "It's still food."
"Well, you guys probably froze it and we do that too. Anyway, don't worry about it. Some of this should probably wait until you've built up your vocabulary some more." Ed waves it off.
"Alright." She moves him along the seam, occasionally using her other hand to help him. Even though she knows exactly what's in this box her eyes are alight with the interest she feels in opening it.
Between the three of them, it doesn't take long for the wrapping paper to come off; leaving just the actual box itself. Ed starts prowling the top, looking for a good spot to start working on getting it open.

"Yup." Ed nods.
((Ahahaha. Might have helped if I mentioned that there's only one other occupied apartment in the building. Whoops.))

It takes a few minutes but Al does appear at the door. He looks at Icy curiously. "Yes?"
He looks down at the box she's carrying and stares at his brother. "Brother?! What on..." He facepalms. "Never mind. I can already guess."
He looks back up. "C'mon in."
He gets out of her way and starts leading the way to the apartment.

"Well, no. He's just picky and thinks I should learn to make more things from scratch, that's all." Ed shrugs.

"Dunno about anyone else, but I'm getting thirsty." Alphonse goes over to a cupboard to get a glass.
He glances over his shoulder at Icy. "Sure you don't need a drink?"

Ed proceeds to do so, with little comments like "Oh hey. Soft landing. I've found the cookies!" etc, before he finally pops the lid up.
