Ed accompanied the person he couldn't remember that he apparently knew, sometimes rushing off in some random direction to look at something before returning.
Now all this causes some minor 'Hey, come back, Ed!' flailing as she runs around after him as he does his routine. Just makes the trip longer than it should be. Eventually, though, they get the apartments.
Faye gives the right button a push, hoping Al's in right now.
Al answers a little later than usual; a yawn that's promptly covered by the back of his hand serving as it's own explanation. "Hi Faye. Been awhile. Looking for Brother?"
Then he catches sight of Ed and stares. "Please tell me that's one of the kid versions that lives in the other building."
Al just facepalms as he grabs the collar of his brother's shirt as Ed starts to zip by again. "Do I even want to--Never mind. It can wait until we're in the apartment."
He lets Faye into the building and basically frogmarches his complaining brother to the apartment; making him take his sandles off and leave them on the mat by the door before turning him loose again.
He flops down on the recently acquired loveseat and gives Faye a chance to settle down. "Okay. What did you do?"
After a few minutes Al comes back out and hands Faye a glass of apple juice. "Forgot to ask just what you wanted to drink so I went with giving you the same thing as me. And apparently, for right now, Brother is perfectly happy to stay in there with his own drink. Along with a snack to keep him occupied."

Ed's starting to fidget as he listens to the other two and starts looking around for something interesting to focus on besides the books.

"Actually, it is interesting. Even if it makes my brain hurt sometimes. There's no way Brother would have the patience for it though."
He's also keeping an eye on his brother.

Ed fidgets some more before giving up and sliding off the chair and going back to the bookcase.

A twitch is the only sign that Ed heard the magic word 'supper'.

"I'll just be doing that fridge check then..." Al rises from his seat and leaves the room.
