HBP sneaked in Chi-town

Sep 07, 2008 15:47

It would be spectacular to read a "review" of the super-secret sneak-peek of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by someone who truly LIKES the films (they could have flown ME to Chicago, I wasn't busy.) *sigh*

But in spite of her obvious anti-Kloves/I-hate-Gambon bias, the TLC reader who sent in her "review"
(here) liked the film. Sadly, now ( Read more... )

sneak, hbp, stupidity

Well, it's MY journal, and I'll rant if I want to! :P

I have no "constructive criticism" for these so-called fans who seem to thrive on complaining: about how lousy the films are and that they could do better. Hence my rhetorical thrown-gauntlet.

And I agree with you that "I expect that WB should be able to make an excellent movie" and my point (I really do have one beside atop me head) is that IMHO much of the HP films are excellent, even brilliant. I have come to my last nerve with folks saying the films "suck" because a favourite book-scene didn't make it on-screen. They are different media of expression and what works well on the page is often flat on-screen.

I am being infantile in my anti-anti-film ranting because that is the level it goes down to. I admit it--I have sunk to the lowest common denominator with this. Best go have a cuppa and grow-up. *sniffs, blows nose*

Hey, it's your party! You have every right to rant! (And as long as as I'm invited to the party, I might have a comment or two. :P)

I understand that you're sick of it, but... you know, you think that the films are awesome. Other people think the films suck. Just because you disagree doesn't mean that person x (who hates the films) is necessarily wrong. People can have a disagreement without getting personally offended.

I suspect I'm preaching to the choir here... a cuppa it is! I'm going in search of a pumpkin spice latte.

Wow. That kinda hurt. LOL. ^^;

"Don't go see the film then, boycott it" - but you see that's the problem! I love the HP films so much, and they take it away because THEY KNOW THEY CAN. Because they KNOW that we'll still go and see them, because we love them so much!

It's all politics in the business world at the expense of the people who love the series!

Also, I have actually made my own doco about fandom, but I could never make an HP film of the books because... THEY'D SUE! It's all about money and them doing this kind of crap because they know we'll just have to put up with it. That's my problem. :(

Peace,
Rotae

Yeah, well I'm pissed-off, and I hope my friends can allow me this little tantrum (I'm usually so calm and collected--LOL)

Hugs, and thanks for reading my rant. Friends can always agree to disagree.

Actually--your comments are VERY coherent. That is exactly the sort of criticism that is seemingly impossible for the folks I'm bitching about to produce. Give me a good reason for your argument and we can happy debate. Just say such-and-such sux, well, you see the result . . . I become the Incredulous HPfilm-Hulk, hear me roar!

I could never be cross with my friends and people I respect just because I disagree with their choices and opinions (as deluded as some of those may be . . . :P )

Thanks for listening. :)
