there wasn't much blood in the book, it entertained me a lot but maybe that's because it made me laugh :D

Nah, there's no blood. Its not a gory vampire series ... its modern vamps who live in peace among us. Okay, that's a lam summary, sorry. XD

But as a fan, I loved the movie. I went into it thinking it was going to be horrible, but it wasn't. They got everything in there that was important and that's what made me the most happy. It didn't disappoint like every HP movie that comes out, honestly. Its a very, very good adaptation of the books ... which aren't the best written, hence the cheesy/crappy-ish script. But I still love it.

And no, it will never take the place of HP, EVER. But they can certainly live side by side. :)

PS. Funny enough, it was Rob's acting that bothered me out of anything else. I understood that he was approaching the character from that un-published Edward POV, but it just didn't fit well, for me, in the contest of this book, which is in Bella's POV. He nailed it sometimes, and totally missed it other times. :/

Libby and I went to see it and it didn't suck as bad as I was afraid it would. Libby can't shut up about the cinematography, but I'm afraid I was distracted by how bad some of the casting was. I agree with you that Rob Pattinson was the only good one. The other character that I actually like (Emmett) didn't have enough lines to even make an impression.

What astounds me are the claims that this series is so much better (or even in the same league as) HP. The movie was fairly faithful to the book, but I also find the book unbelievable.

Seriously, I find the fact that Edward is a vampire more believable than I do that there is a guy like him out there. It's over-romanticized and gives girls the false impression that if they swoon over some guy he will save them and carry them off. A better message to send to young girls is to stand on your own two feet and don't let any man define you. Oops, sorry about that. I'll step off of my soapbox now.
