Snape/Hagrid site

Nov 25, 2011 20:58

I think it's obvious to us all that I'm not going to get the time to re-create the Snape/Hagrid site.

I still have all of the files, though. Would anyone else like to take this up? I'm happy to send the files over to anyone who'd like to recreate the site.

If there is no one else, I'll be happy to take them -- I just say if there's no one else because my rl is very chaotic right now, and it would probably take me a good 3 months at least before I got anything up. But, I don't want to see it completely gone.

I could help with it (coding and that). I just don't have anywhere to host it...hmm...unless we host it on dreamwidth or AO3 just for the time being (in order to keep it alive until the new version of the site is up)

B? What do you think of that idea?

I e-mailed you and posted on the yahoo group but I'm going to post here too. I know of a host and I'd be willing to keep things up.

Hi - I can send you a zip file of the stories in the html I used, would that suit?

There is only one concern, and that is that some authors no longer wanted their work included and I can't remember all of them, so I need to go through the files and see if I can pick out those I took off the archive, but left in my files...

That sounds great. I can get everything set up and confirm I don't have any of the ones who don't want to be included before I make it live.

What has happened with this? has someone taken it up? I'm a huge fan of Hagrid/Severus so I'm really interested on this. Thanks!

If you still need someone, let me know I can run this journal too, I co-mod others.

Someone said they would, I sent them the files, but they never did anything with them.

No need to co-mod this journal, that's no effort at all. I just don't want to re-do the archive site.

Oh, I hope they do.

Keep us posted, I would really love to read them :D

Thanks, for getting to me so quickly!

It's been years, I think the archive is dead now.

Sorry, I actually did a deeper search and managed to find that alot of the old authors actually DID start their own sites on Angel fire (or at least lynda did). It's a good site to look at if your still thinking about reviving the site.

The authors own their own work and get to say where it goes, not me. I no longer feel I have the right to take other people's work and load them into archives without their permission.
