Where I am both amused and irratated

Exam results, ABB. Which was the result Id decided id been pee'd off with, but the total results made me snerk. In English I was one mark off an A, and in history I was two marks off. 0.2% off an A, I am a tragic victim of rounding down. Am considering writing to my local MP and selling story to The Scum ( Read more... )

Sell your story for millions- or send off for remarking- i think you should- it would be worth it. Those are still good grades though- just remember that- some people would be killing themselves at the mo for grades like that. I'm still proud of you luff- you've done well. :o)

I say get 'em remarked. You'll probably get that extra bit you need to get all As. :)

But even so, those are still bloody good grades and I'm still very very proud of you. :) *hugs madly*

I'd say without doubt get them remarked. You've got a very good batch of results as it is (congrats!) and you're very unlikely to have produced an 'E' grade paper in History. I can say from personal experience (many, many moons ago where my English grade went up 2 levels from C to A on a remark! I *knew* they'd got that wrong!)that 2-3% borderline scripts are worth remarking. It's worth it for your peace of mind.

Have a good celebrate! You deserve it.

Imogen :)

Thanks Imogen, youve been really reassuring :)
My main concern is that the marks can go down as awell as up. Im definately sending in the paper I got an E in for remarking. even if they push me down to 0 I still get a B, so I have nothing to lose.

btw, how reliable has the marking been this year? I know that last year a lot of the results were really odd and had to be sent back for remarking. What do you think it been like this year?

Marking reliability is probably fairly good, although I'd expect to have a few scripts where I've really screwed the marks up out of my batch of 800. Doesn't matter how hard you try, it's bound to happen through the sheer quantity you have to do and levels of concentration you need ( ... )
