Wow...an actual update

I know...I've been gone.  I've been having a good time, though.
That's all that matters.

My birthday was today.  I turned 34 years old.  Scary.  Well, not too bad.  The 5's are always worst for me, so we'll see how I do next year.  The day started at about noon-noon:30.  Margo called to see if I wanted to go to lunch with her.  She had just completed an observation at Hope High School, wanted to chat, eat lunch, celebrate my birthday, etc.  We had a good lunch.  Apsara is always good.  I had the Vietnamese bee boong with shrimp.  Margo had the lemongrass scallops.

It was a beautiful day, so we went driving around the east side of Providence.  We came upon Swan Point Cemetery.  I'd never been there, so we went in, got a map printed directing us to H.P. Lovecraft's grave site. We had a heck of a time finding him!  The map is oriented to the layout of the cemetery, but the top of the page is not North, because the cemetery sits West to East on the edge of the Seekonk River.  Took us a while to get our orientation right!  Ultimately we didn't give up, and we finally found it!  Here are some pics.

This was the larger, family stone that was near his actually headstone. The headstone was in such high-powered sunshine spot that I couldn't get a good picture of it. In these, the sun was in my eyes a bit. You can also see my friend Margo in the pink shirt reflected on the polished marble. I am to the right of her, but you can only really see a piece of my white t-shirt and shadows.

I think it was so sunny out, because I was with my friend, Margo.  She is a bit of a sunworshipper, and loves to perpetrate a tan.  I think she brought all the sun!

popicn  made me a special dinner for my birthday:  scalloped potato, maple-glazed salmon, mussels, stuffies, and a salad.  It was awesome.  We had a bit of a dinner party, and then at 9pm, more  people showed up to party and celebrate.

Except for the nasty aging parts of the day, it was a good day.

Thanks everybody!
