It missed out all the best bits and the subplot was completely missed out. Voldemort was mentioned, like TWICE. It was just wrong. But the SFX were very good.
Given that it's a film adaptation, bits had to be missed out. But I think they cut out the bits that weren't really necessary, like the thing with having the Firebolt confiscated, or the plot with Crooshanks helping Sirius as a dog. Those are important things in the book, because the little bits make it what it is, but I don't think it really made much difference to the film to have them cut.
There were a couple of things I wasn't so keen on (Harry instead of Lupin seeing Pettigrew on the map first for one, and the way Harry was happy instead of devastated that his dad hadn't come back to cast the Patronus), but overall, I think it was really very well done. Espcially when you compare it to how shitty the previous attempts were.
true, compared to previous attepts that were dire. Though it was a pity Chang was missed out and the whole interhouse competitiveness as well. Half the fun is seeing who wins at the end (even though it's always Griffindor).
Yeah, I thought they could have had at least one moment with her in it, even if they didn't do all of the Quidditch (which I think was a sensible thing to cut, because those scenes are always too long and don't add *that* much to everything).
The Leaky Cauldron scene was coooool. They're were all these little things going on in the background, like a little boy trying to do snake charming and failing.

He's improving. Compare to the first film, where his scenes were actually cringemakingly wooden. I liked it. :D
