Lets just say, purely hypothetically, that I were planning to do some ceremonial burning of some stuff. What would be the best way to burn these items with minimum danger to myself or the surroundings? Mini-barbecue ( Read more... )

I got my dad to let me hijack his bonfire. But that may not work for you, I don't know if your garden's big enough to have a proper fire safely...

I think my dad's garden would be big enough, but at the moment it's a bit... jungle-esque so it would probably not be a good idea. And he'd probably dissaprove of ceremonial burnings. :s

Tell him that if you don't, the gods will be angry and send a plague of tent worms.

Find a nearby field with no crops. Build up pile of books and so forth. Get lighter, light book of worst subject, start lighting the pile up. See large amounts of loose pages drift through the field. Panic. Get blind drunk.

Start playing ten-pin bowling with beer bottles.

We could always take over the houses of parliament, and burn stuff there.

I bet that'd make us popular.

gatty and I set fire to my school tie last year by holding it over a big tub of water in the garden and applying a lighter to it bit by bit, if that's any help.

OMG, I did that last year with my friends in my backyard. It's so much fun... We danced around the fire and everything. I suggest you check the zoning laws where you live because here fires can't be of a certain size and have to be so far from the road. But a fireplace always works.

I vote we get everyone's schoolstuff together, take a trip out to somewhere quiet by the seaside, and have a huuuge bonfire. Then do ritual caveman dances around it.

Unless you fail your A-levels and will need your books for retakes. hohoho what a horrible thought. Beach idea sounds good, yeah we could line the up in a circle or a word spelling out some insult to the foundation of our education and dribble on some lighter fluid.....

(To much disgust modern lighter fluids dont suddenly dont catch alight and burn like a bat outta hell anymore, instead they are designed to start a slow burning which sucks really)

.....then light so we can see a word on flames on the beach..... Now that would be cool, but do we have enough books.

If I fail, I'm running away to the circus. Or the equivalent for the the being-able-to-touch-their-toes-challenged. :((

It's just the one book I want to burn. Normally I treasure books as books because they are nice. But Middleton needs to be sacrificed for the greater good. PAGE BY PAGE HE WILL BURN. :D
