Cool :-) I was hoping you might be able to do something similar with my hair at Whitby - but only down one side (if that makes sense), plus my hair is much shorter anyway
Hi there, I started playing around with fake hair about a year ago - and am still just learning!! Right now I just have tried a few loose extension on myself a 4-way plaits with my stepdaughters [like this]. elle69 had mentioned awhile ago that her husband's brother's did a lot with fake hair.
I was chatting with L about starting to mess around with falls and joked with L that if I ever got to London, I wondered if her SIL would do lessons :) She sent me this link. I have checked out Kathryn Quinn's site, so far that is my guide. . .
So, at some time in the future, would you mind taking on an American apprentice for a few hours??? I love the work that you and Em do and am eager to learn!! Namaste, M

Katherine Quinn's site and the hairboard are excellent resources, and if you are ever in London then we'll have to see if we can fit in a demo or something - *bunniez are flattered*
Thanks so much for the recommendation for the hairboard, and I greatly appreciate the offer if I do make it across the pond!! :) Seems like most of the people on the boards are far more advanced than I am [feeling very green] but I am reading a lot, trying to learn and I have to start somewhere, right??
I *love* the loose extensions that you have been posting lately [those are the kind I try to do for myself] they look fabulous!! When *I* try DIY streaks, I can see the small box plait at the top. Any idea what am I doing wrong?? [I am putting them right at the part line, and after seeing the pictures, I am thinking *that* is wrong]. Do you use the heat sealed or pinch braid method for these extension? Sorry to be asking such sophomoric questions, but with these last two posts of loose extensions I am starting to drool!! Much thanks and Namaste, M

spot on : if you put the extentions right on the hairline, the seals will be visible. It depends on the thickness of your hair, but we normally work about half an inch or an inch 'under' the parting.
The other hint is that you probably need to use smaller sections of both real hair and fake hair than you think you do. No, smaller than that too ;)
Everyone has to start somewhere, and reading and trying, and then reading some more, and then asking are good ways to learn ;)
That looks rele cute
