CBC Forced to Lock Out Employees After 15 Months of Bargaining

August 15, 2005 - Today at 12:01 a.m., after more than 15 months of bargaining, the CBC took the regrettable but necessary action of locking out its 5,300 employees who are represented by the Canadian Media Guild. This is a very grave step, and the decision was not undertaken lightly,

I was hoping this wouldn't happen. I've never heard of this happening with journalists before. Interesting.

is it the journalists? i'd just assumed it was the technical staff.

It's everyone, apparently. My mom was in Toronto today and said she saw Mansbridge walking the picket line.
