I'm about 100 pages into Half-Blood Prince (my favorite in the series). I also just got the "Hogwarts Library" collection from my girlfriend's parents for Christmas. I've read The Tales of Beedle the Bard, but somehow neglected to read Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them and Quidditch Through The Ages (even though I've been aware of them since shortly after they were released).
Of all of the "mature" (i.e. thick) Potter books, I find Order of the Phoenix to be the hardest to get through, mostly because Harry is so unlikable through the majority of it. It's wonderful writing - I had the same feelings and reactions at 15 as Harry does in this book and, as a result, was probably just as insufferable - but sometimes you want to reach in the book and strangle the fucking kid!
Umbridge is one of literature's all-time great villains. And what a wonderful name! I was talking with Zak's girlfriend over the weekend (she just finished reading the newest Cormoran Strike book) about how JK Rowling has this Dickensian ability to create such incredible names for her characters.
Gotta keep it vague enough that nobody gets potentially outed in a blog that frequently discusses the finer points of dicks, dongs, dumpers, and schlongs, but familiar enough (at least to me) so that I can remember who, exactly, these people are!
