I've lived in mormon country almost all my life. I was directed to a website that listed all the contridictions in the Book of Mormon and the history of the mormon religion. I'll see if I can dig it up for you.

It's pretty screwy. All of these things are in the mormon doctrine, yet most mormons aren't even aware because the church tries to cover it all up. I was mormon for 13 years and didn't know about any of it.

i've been mormon 13 days and i didn't know any of this :(.... even though that soudns short, and like i'm trying to be funny.. they really do not tell some things. I mean i still know that this is the truth, it;s just weird what they do and dont' tell you before youre baptized.

Yeah, and I've been in the church for two years, and I've learned something about every last part of that. Actually, all of that stuff listed above was in a book that some guy wrote.. I forgot his name, but a missionary that went to my branch once wrote a rebuttal where he was able to disprove all of that. And also, with the archeological evidence.. I beg to differ. There are books upon books upon books that archeologically support things said by the BOM, and guess what? Half of the authors of those books aren't even Mormon.

But of course, all of the stuff this person has said has got to be true. Of course it is! She said it on the internet, so it's got to be true! No body lies on the internet!

Thank you! I want to learn all that I can. My dad is an avid mormon, and I'd love to confront him with all of this information and see what he has to say about it.

That's really interesting. I'm kind of surprised that this isn't commong knowledge. Everytime I've gone to a service all they talk about is Joseph Smith...

Haha...my husband always jokes about how they don't worship God, they worship Joseph Smith. :)

I actually said something like that as a joke and it got back to my grandma, who tried to pull out her scriptures to "prove" to me that they do, in fact, worship God. LOL

WoW! I knew that there were some messed up ideas in the Mormon faith, but I had no idea about any of that stuff. It's crazy. And they put more emphasis on Joseph Smith than on Jesus. It's a shame that they cover it up. I guess they do that because if people knew all this, they wouldn't get any followers. Isn't it that the higher up one gets in the church, the more they learn about this details?
So if you're no longer a mormon, are you of any faith right now? I'm Protestant, just to put that out there. Baptist if one wanted to be techni.cal. Gotta go.
Ciao.

Yeah, I go to a small Christian church. I don't really claim a denomination, but my church is Friends (Quaker). It's really laid back/not too conservative and I like it. :)
