First of all, I don't think ignorance is bliss. I think it is just ignorance, exactly the reason why I believe the LDS church tends to tell everything they believe so that those in the church are not ignorant and those that are seeking it out might understand all of the doctrine ( ... )

Biblical archeologists have proven many illustrations outlined in the Bible to be true, but none in the Book of Mormon that I have seen, and I am very interested and open-minded if anyone shows me proof of any. Also, there are numerous ancient cities illustrated in the Bible that have been found.

I don't hate mormons, either. I love mormons, really! I just don't like the way the mormon church as a whole conducts itself. Mostly because of the beliefs I have attained. If there are people who believe everything the Book of Mormon tells them, then that's great for them. I, for one, find it to be a book far to difficult for me to ever believe. That's just me though.

i don't remember how i stumbled over here, and it's really late so i'm probably not going to make any sense whatsoever.

but anyways, i completely agree with you. i was born and raised in the church and completely got the guts up to tell my parents i didn't and couldn't believe in mormonism this past january.

i'm not mormon for more reasons than that, though. waaay more reasons than i can explain when i'm half asleep.

by the way, you seem interesting (in a good way) so i added you. hope you don't mind?

Aww. ::leaps and glomps:: Anyways, wanted to add my two cents in on this.

3. No archaeological evidence supports the claims of the Book of Mormon.

Well, they haven't found the cross Jesus Christ was crucified on either, have they?

The thing is, it doesn't matter if their is evidence or not. Faith is about having faith in things you can't see. (Ever heard of the Primary song?) So it wouldn't really mattered if there was evidence or not just as long as you really believe.

Anyways, you lived in Utah? Yeah, I hear the religion's almost a tradition there now, so I don't blame you. Loves ya!

I stumbled across your journal. I think it's important to have religious discussions like these. Good for you, for posting, and for all of the other people for defending their FAITH.

yes, that's the key word here. In your entry you outline some pretty far-out occurences that are hard to believe because the modern world goes against them. but that's the point--that's FAITH. I don't know about men living on the moon, but I believe a virgin conceived without sin and gave birth to ur savior who died and then came back to life three days later. I don't see how that's any easier to believe than people living on the moon.

Mormonism is false. The motives of mormonism couldnt be better but the base of all their beliefs are faulty and a pitiful add on to true christianity. A book that I highly recommend that exposes Mormonism is titled "Under The Banner Of Heaven" which is beleive or not, written by a Mormon.... Well if you are like most my mormon friends whom practice mormonism but havent researched their roots and don't know what they've gotten themselves into then I feel sorry for you.

I'm not Mormon. I'm actually a non-practicing Roman Catholic. I just believe that unless you have all the answers you should sit on your damn hands and shut the hell up. What do you get out of maligning other peoples' faiths?
