It's been an interesting day at work: non-stop coverage of Greece, images of street battles, the 'Tannoy' cutting in at intervals with major market news - Portugal, new reports from the Ratings Agencies; Italy, questions over fraudulent economic data; Greece, questions over the release of bail-out funds; failed gilt auctions and impending funding ( Read more... )

And I will contribute, in part, to the numbers pointing to a pressing need for serious electoral reform.

I think this may be what this election turns out to be about, in the longer term.

I think there's quite a gap between an individual in a comfortable financial position giving some money to a political party they support, and for example a company giving the majority party money coincidentally some months before there is a bill changing a law massively in their favour.
