the LJ-Archive tool has been repaired
: this captures the comment threads as well as the posts (and the community content) and saves it all for posterity (

Link fixed...
In theory, LJ-Archive should work on Dreamwidth, too. In practice, I believe nothing 'til I've tested it.

Just in case. Also: a lot of people are letting their journals go dormant: those journals will eventually be deleted!

Also: Dreamwidth has a migration tool that copies everything - comments, filters, icons and all - into your DW journal.
