I can bet that builder did not paid money for work. I have a number of Russian friends who at least once met similar case in Australia. All of them told me that builders regularly try to not pay for completed job.
Me too. Once I met when employer denied to pay for work, despite employer signed contract. In last year (August - September 2018) Talent International advertised urgent short contract for position of DataWarehouse developer in Eagle Farm, Queensland. The employer name is Followmont Transport which slogan is 'Proudly Servicing Queensland'. After the phone interview I received email from Sam Needs of Talent International.
I provided Talent with my documents, passport and visa details. Then I signed contract and came in Followmont office.
The air conditioning in the office worked at full capacity and the temperature was much lower than comfortable. The temperature out of the office at the beginning of September in cloudy and rainy weather was below 20C degrees. The temperature in the office was even lower. People in the office sat in warm clothes and opened the window so that warmer air from the street went into the office. Only Yvette Buckley was wearing a summer dress. No one warned me that IT office of Followmont Transport is like an industrial refrigerator and I did not bring warm clothes with me. At the end of the working day, I felt that I get cold.
On the next day I came in Followmont office with warm clothes. Unfortunately, over couple of hours under air-conditioner I felt myself worse and worse. I sent email to Roberto Perez and went to doctor.
Hospital diagnosed pneumonia. In that time Talent International and Followmont Transport terminated contract.
Followmont Transport caused harm to my health because they did not keep workplace health and safety condition in their office. I filled timesheet on Talent payroll website and expected my money, however, my direct employer Talent International did not pay me for my work.
I waited payment for a month and then in October 2018 I decided to inquire about my money. I referred to Workplace Occupational Health and Safety rules and argued that I became ill due to the extremely low temperature in the office.
The last time Talent International replied with this email.
After that my timesheet has been rejected. Roberto Perez replied nevermore and Talent International has not paid me for my work. Followmont Transport hurt my health and my direct employer Talent International decided to pay nothing.
Talent International declares fair work, but they are unfair. Unfortunately, FairWork Ombudsman in Australia is fake. Authorities who exist to defend human rights actually do not work. This is Australia, mate. 'Proudly Lying Queensland'.
