good things

Good things have been happening with Carmel Baha'i' School. for years I have been advocating for change that is both more in tune with youth today, and give a little more youth autonomy, and for years I have been shot down. This years, I was unable to participate in any capacity because of a summer class that was necessary for me. I hear that the ( Read more... )

i think you have the rapport, the history, the insite, the skill, and the flexability to be a lead councillor. the role encorporates teaching, guiding, and training, things that i've seen and appreciated in you. as somebody who would love to serve in a similar position, i can see in you the qualities i constantly try to develop in myself. openness, a desire to communicate, logical analysis of a situation followed by decisive and appropriate action, a desire to grow, to guide rather than force, to understand, to appreciate differences, and to see someone develop their capacity.

the reality is, i think you have the capacity to fill any role you take. those qualities above are basically needed in any position of leadership, and i see you as a leader.

Thank you for your assessment of my qualities. It seems very generous, but then again, we all tend to be our own biggest critic. When do you come back to the Portland area again?

i'll be there 'round about sept. 3rd. i wish the flight was actually only 4.5 hours, as it looks on the itenerary. i board in vienna at 7 am and arrive in portland at 11.30. that looks like only 4 hours, right? WRONG! it's about 11... soooooo long! i think my mum and dad will be out of town on that particular day, but i can't remember for sure. wanna come pick me up? ;)

Sure I can pick you up. I'll mark it on Ye Ol' Calender. Octoogle 32 @ 28:00 hours and 67 minutes...got it! Count on it! I'll pick you up.

You have skills that are great for positions involving both leading and behind-the-scenes. You are also great listening and conversing one-on-one as well as with a group. I second Josh's opinion, you would be good at any position you want want to fill. Then again, I also agree with Kat that you are a teacher at heart. Am I making this decision easier or harder? Sorry!

Thanks Elin. I am liking the idea of being the lead councelor. I will have to speak to the powers that be, and see what happens.

I've been pondering this since we talked. I wonder, honestly, if you might most enjoy the rarely-filled position of archivist, along with being one of the Guides. That'd let you be artistic and be any and everywhere, along with giving you that mentorship role as well. George and I did a bit of that this year, with the last-day slideshow, and it was a bit hectic. If I'd had it as my primary focus during the downtimes the production would have been much keener ( ... )

All right. Archivist could be fun, and I have the background to handle that too ( ... )
