ugh...unexpected drama

Two days ago on Tuesday, I was on my way home from my summer class. I pulled up to a stopsign behind a Toyota pickup, and came to a complete stop. As I was sitting there, the driver of said truck suddenly decides to back up. She didn't do a lot of damage to my car, but it will need to pay a visit to the body shop since she put a 6 inch dent in my ( Read more... )

I'm sorry that happened! I would be so mad! I hate lying...it usually causes more trouble than anything.

I'm still mad. I want to suggest to the insurance company that it might be a good idea to drop her since she is so unscrupulous, but Katherine says that I have covered myself, and justice will be served, and that there is no reason to be vindictive. Perhaps that is true, but I am afraid that I still delight in the thought that at the very least her rates will be going up, and that I may be one of few people to prove that front end damage to my car does not mean that I was the guilty party. If I were an insurer, and had a recorded statement from one of my costumers that was discovered to be so blatantly fraudulent, I would definitely cancel their insurance.

Does she have Alstate? We had to deal with them once they were the rudest and most evil insurance company we've ever had to deal with. Also there is a website www.alstatesucks.com. It tells of stories much like yours were drivers addmited responsibility at the scene then changed there tune after having a chat with their insurance company: Alstate.

No but just as bad. She has SAFECO. I informed the adjuster that given the police report, and the witness, she might want to encourage her costumer to change her story, or if necessary, we can make this a civil matter, I can subpeona the witness and the officer, and she can go on the stand and purger herself until her hearts content.

I told my dad about it and his response (don't get uptight, its good for once :) ) was never, ever, ever turn down someone who is willing to be a witness for you. And from experience, always take down their licence plate number-my mom forgot to do that w/ her "crunch" a coupla weeks ago-turned out the guy was uninsured.

I am just glad you're ok, physically at least. Being mad is better than being hospitalized.
Love ya. Give my nephew kisses for me!

yeah that's true. I don't think she ever got above 10 MPH, I am just glad that it didn't set off my airbag. Those suckers are expensive to replace, and it probably would have hurt me when it exploded in my face. Sasha will get kisses when I get home this evening. Boy did I ever learn the witness lesson. It is my first accident, so as I think I may have said, I was a little naive.
