Aha, I was wondering what you meant by Big Wheeling.

That's fun, I've done it, and you do get going pretty fast even with the braking from the rear foot drag. It's one of the moves I can do regularly that looks "dancy," since I have the typical rollergirl clunkiness in general.

rollergirl clunkiness... I like that description because it's so true! We sometimes have rollergirls come and practice on Tues nights at the rink, and we regulars just zoom around them. The rollergirl crowd gets particularly big just before tryouts, when they actually try to practice blocking and falling, etc, and it gets dangerous for us regulars because they don't really look where they're going, or they treat us like we're rollergirls too and push people into us, but we're not, and we're not wearing pads, and we get annoyed. Luckily, one of the regulars is a referee, and she's pretty hard on them when they fail to respect the rights of other rollerskaters.

I had not thought to characterize it as clunkiness though. Cute. Rollergirl style does not require grace. It requires toughness. Which is why I will never do it.
