"A bead I'll probably never make?" - Yeah, I made it.

So I posted about the Viking-era swastika bead a few days ago. albreda said she'd wear it if I made it, so I turned on my torch tonight and gave it a shot.*

I love my new bead, and will wear it with pride to help reclaim the symbol! What do I owe you? (BTW, if you decide to keep this one, I'll totally understand.)

(And, geez, I can't wear just my skimpy assortment of beads. I *might* have to acquire more, just so I can keep my promise to wear this one! >;)

It's a present. I probably wouldn't have made it if you hadn't spoken up. :)

Oh, also, remind me to hook you up with my friend Scott Fessler. He's been making realistic eyeballs!

I am so glad you made that bead. The svastika has been such an important design element in so many cultures, that it seems a shame to let the Nazi's have it. I can understand why the College of Heralds would want to keep it as a banned charge (because I'm sure there's Neo-Nazi douchebags even in the SCA), but I think we absolutely must leave room for reproduction work like this.

I'm super looking forward to seeing where you go with the Northern Army badge beads :)
