Tokyo Dome Pamphlet 2010
A: Our first live? It was terrible haha! Not a lot of people came. It was a flop lol. But even so, at that time we were overflowing with hopes & aspirations. But maan look at this pic! Look at how low I hung my guitar lol

--You mean you focused on what you looked like more than ur guitar play?
A: Yes. I mean- we were really trying to excel in this visual kei thing lol. I had my guitar hung really low at that time。My guitar straps were super long- I think the guitar reached around my ankles.

--What were you trying to achieve, hanging ur guitar so low?
A: No- to simply put it, I guess I thought it was cool.

--Uruha said he started to take work with more professionalism around DISORDER era. What about you Aoi?
A: Hmm~ it's really hard to say. Currently, I am doing music professionally but I'm not really all that particular about how far my professionalism goes. Eh- meaning, I've never thought about it that way. Things like, making music is my job and I have to aim for professionalism and such. I don't see performing live concerts as work. The day I started playing the guitar at the right position is not the day I decided to go for pro. It doesnt work that way for me. Maybe it was when I seriously wanted to focus on playing the guitar and wanted to study more about musical theory-when I had that shift of heart. I think it came to me gradually. Something like, aiming to perform our songs better live than the ones in the CDs.

Arena37 Vol 282 March 2006.
--How was the album recording? (NIL 2006)
A: The studio was far away from my place so I had to wake up really early to go to there. I kept thinking, "Why must I wake up early? I'm no salaryman!"
Re: We start around 11am and try our best to end it at 9pm It went like that regularly, my life went in order.
U: Yeah. And you get hungry normally too. I ate 3 times a day and I got plumper...

--Btw, all of you gather at the studio even tho its not your turn to record, right?
Re: I've heard that with some bands, only the one doing the recording for that day come to the studio. But wont that be lonely? You wont get to say "I'm done with my recording!" if you do your recording alone. Your excitement level should be at high when you record. It will really take a toll on your motivation when you go out for break-time alone...
K: I'd feel really depressed if I got out of the recording booth and realised none of my bandmembers is there.... We really need all 5 when we record so we can share our opinions about the sound, or whether or need we need to re-do the recording. Plus we can play games when we wait for our turn to record lol. It's super fun~
Re: Yeah! The 4 of us waiting- we had lots of game competitions! We played lots of fighting games like Urban Reign (PS2)
Ru: On the last day of recording, we were all like "Let's go all the way and get it done!" but we still brought along the games lol
K: Its those times when I stop to realise, "Ah- all 5 of us are really close"
Ru: Nausea&Shudder was NIL's main song. It represents what GazettE want to be. It's fierce, solid and cool. It's melodious chorus makes you feel like ur soaring. The natural colour of the song is powerful. All and all, its like Jack Daniels lol
U: You'll get all of that feeling from having some Jack Daniels- all of that and its cheap.
A: The number of my equipment is increasing... I think I can make a fort out of my equipments already.

--What would you like the fans to know before they come to your lives?
Ru: Don't just come to our lives to see us. Join us. Rock with us.

Shoxx vol.161 July 2006
--Aoi, how would you raise your child if you had one?
A: Hello hello. Today the world is slowly moving towards rainy season, eh? Well then, the question I got was [How would you raise your child if you had one?]. Kids eh? But if you pamper them too much they'd grow up to be spoilt, selfish brats wont they? I have nephews and nieces of my own, they're really cute. Somehow they just casually call me by my name. Without the "-san". But then again, having that kind of relationship with them isnt so bad.

Because of the big age gap between me and my older siblings, I dont play with them much. The only time was when I got to play guitar with my big brother. But yknow~ being able to talk casually with your parents is great, isnt it? You feel like you're close friends with each other.

So yeah, if I were to be given the great gift of having a child, I really want my child to be the most happiest kid alive! But then again, I think still have a long way to go. So this is all future talk OK~ Marriage and children that is. I wonder what kind of person my future wife would be. And when my child is born, I wonder what kind of person he/she'll turn out to be. It'll be a while till I know the answers but I can't wait!

Even tho thoughts like this gets me all excited but right now I just want to give my undivided attention towards music. That's all. Aoi out.

Oh, Reita's Bday is coming up so I'd like to borrow the magazine space to say Happy Birthday Reita! Thats all, byee

Gazette Birthday Wishes 2011 (PS Mobile GazettE Mail).
Ru: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. It's the day you were born! Let's toast to that miracle! Are you growing up to be a good person? Anyone can become a kind and gentle person, right? Happy birthday.
U: Happy birthday! Be thankful that you were born so please live your life to the fullest!
A: happy birthday!! You're 1 year older, eh? Well~ how is it? Hey, hey~ how do you feel? Well then, even tho you're 1 year older, go have fun all you can! May your future be a wonderful one!
Re: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I'm really grateful for this moment! Let's run through this 1 year together with me!! Happy birthday!!
K: Happy birthday! May this year be a fruitful year for you!!

Gigs Bass Drums Book 2011
--In your almost 10 years being in a band together, what was the greatest moment both of you shared?
Re: Kai was really born to be a live-band drummer. He's the type that exerts maximum raw power when he plays the drums. He's normally a gentle person but when on stage, he has that ghastly, frightening presence. And I think, that's really awesome.  I was really impressed with him on that live, when we suffered power blackout during encore. There were only the two of us on stage. My amplifier was dead so the audience couldn't hear my bass, and I was doubtful weather or not they could hear the drums. The staff had flashlights on me, so I encouraged the fans to clap along Kai's rhythm.
K: Naah, I was lucky. I just reacted to the blackout on time lol. I remember us doing a sort of a documentary on that tour, and I said that the last tour wasnt as fun cos we didn't experience any troubles. So when that blackout happened, my heart went "Alright!! Now we're talking!!" haha~
Re: Ahaha~ But if Kai stopped playing his drums at that time, we'd probably regret that moment and kept on thinking about doing it all over. Not only that, what Kai did made the fans feel more united with the band. It was a rare and precious experience for me. I'm very grateful.
K: Like Reita said, whenever I get on stage, I have this kind of personality switch. But Reita is the same anywhere- on or off stage! Because of this, we have a great sense of trust towards him. Plus the bass sounds holds the band together, so you'd need someone reliable like him. Long ago I had to work hard to keep up with Reita. Even now, he's the most calm among all 5 of us. I have this personality switch on stage bcos I want to really concentrate on the drums- so I can keep up with Reita's bass.

R&R038
A:Ruki is the brains of the band. He motivates us to work harder。Uruha is the one who always starts a discussion lol。Reita's the man if you want something done! He has that leadership quality.... And Kai is.... y'know hehe

NeoGenesis Yearbook 2006
Ru: I find that Aoi & Kai are really kind.
K:Reita and Uruha's nice too,but the simple nice guy type.
U: I'm not the attractive nice guy type?!
A: Noo- I'm not kind at all!

U: How did it start? The first unpleasant thing happened at Kagoshima. Someone from the audience were fighting with each other.
Ru: That made the fans uncomfortable because after that, there wasnt much of a call for encore- we discussed whether or not to just stop there. Our next live was at Kumamoto. The main live was great but the voices that called out for encore was almost none. We backstage wondering what to do next. In the end we didnt go out for encore. Even tho by doing that would give us bad reputation and our fanbase will decrease, but its the best way to tell them what we feel about it. I had this big hope in my heart, that they'll understand us eventually. The main live is the main thing! Encores are supposed to be a surprise present, right? That was the msg that we wanted to convey to them.

Re: When Uruha moved into his new place, I had to listen to him talk constantly about things he needed to buy.
U: It was just the beginning when I first moved in, I was nervous. I didn't have a bed at first- so my room was just empty. If I wanted to sleep I'd just spread a futon. But when I was lying down on the futon I thought- "Oh maan, this feels really lonely...."
A: Say what? I think that's awesome. If it was me I'd say "Waah~ I'm soo happy~"
Ru: When I slept at my new place that night, it felt just the same when I slept in my old place- it was fun~
Re: It's fun moving to a new place cos you can redecorate the place from zero~
Ru: Our places arent so far from our work place, but even so Kai keeps on staying over at my place.
K: You still dont like me staying over?
U: I'd be really happy if someone wants to stay over at my place.
Ru: Noo- I dont like it when someone stays over!
Re: That day Kai stayed over at my place and I didn't have an extra futon. Then Kai said he had brought along a fordable mattress with him
Ru: He brought what? Kai, why didnt you bring along your own mattress when you stayed over at my place?
U: Long ago, Kai would never stay over our places, right?
K: I diidd!! I stayed over your place 2 times before, remember?
Re: Uruha is just- he'd say stuff like "I'm going to stay over at ur place~ wait for me!" And all I did was wait- he never came over.
A: It's really fun to hang out with Uruha, eh?
Re: Yeah, I waited and I waited... poor me...
U: Ahahaha!
K: In that case, I'll just be staying over at Uruha's place from now on!

--After recording REGRET and FILTH IN THE BEAUTY, you did a live performance at Germany.
Ru: Yes we did. It felt like we were going for battle.Preparing for a live there is really different.
A:The live itself was really great.
Re: But I felt like the air-cond didn't work...
Ru: I saw water spraying everywhere. Ah, I want to see that scene again。
Re: I dint say much at the press conference. I just came, clapped my hands, got my pic taken and sat down on the conference table lol
Ru: Most of the questions were anime relatd. Like, which anime influenced ur music direction.
U: They asked which anime represents Gazetto too.
A: I was really moved when we found some Japanese fans that came to Germany to see us perform there. I was really touched when we went out of the livehouse and we heard "Otsukaresama deshita~". I felt so relieved, it was comforting.
Ru: Ah! And when we played the new songs at rehearsals, the German staff stopped working to listen to us play. I was really moved when I saw that. It made me think, oh~ so maybe the staff know our songs too? It made me really happy. It made me feel that we can communicate through music. I was really moved.

--So how was the beer in Germany?
A+U: It was super awesome~!!
Re: Some were a bit fruity, I couldn't stop myself- I just drank and drank.
A: Now I know that German beer is stronger than Japanese beer.
Re: And the food- the meat is delicious but the rice- not so much.
Ru:The rice grain was longer and narrower. Like the one used in risotto.
U: The sausages were delicious!
A: I love the town. They have morning markets there.
Re: The town has that antic shop atmosphere to it, eh?
K: The place was like a painting. I invited Reita and Uruha to go visit Cologne Cathedral with me but in the end I went there alone...
U: Nooo! It was too early in the morning when you asked me to come with you!!
Ru: I considered following you but I am not as passionate as you towards beautiful things such as that. Remember when we went to Beethoven's house? I just sat outside thinking about what we should do next.
K: Yeah whatever, we can still go sightseeing in Japan, right?  What the hell man, I just dont get you! lol
A: All of us went to Beethoven's house but only me and Uruha went inside.
U: I remember- I was so angry at that time.
Ru: Ahahahaha!
K: Ah... about that, when we arrived I was like, "Should I go in?" Then I was like, "Oh well, maybe not~"
U: I dont get it! What do you get if you only saw the outside of Beethoven's house?
Re: I know... I kinda regret it now that I didnt go in.
Ru: What the hell are you saying?! Don't lie lol. You told me that you werent interested in the house at all!
K: I woke up early in the morning, everyone else was still sleeping. So I ate breakfast alone... And I felt I was cursed with bad luck....
U: Your daily lifestyle and ours are different. It was too early in the morning to wake up....
Re: Kai goes to sleep earlier than us too! Only kids and old people go to sleep that early hahaha! ]
K: Well whatever, I had fun in Germany!
Re: After that we had the outdoors Tokyo Big Site live.We just arrived in Tokyo the night before and we had costume rehearsals the next day.
Ru: We didnt sleep at all. Everyone was acting all strange. We kept on laughing and giggling.
U: But I was so tired I couldnt laugh properly
Re: Thank goodness there was no large gap between the Germany live and the Big Sight live. We were still in the live performing mood. It was the first time we did something like this. We were not in the planning team so the stage and the food stalls really surprised us!

--You've released 2 singles, Regret and FITB, so you guys can relax a bit, right? What are you currently into right now?
U: We dont get off days... (eyes manager)
A: My hobby right now is bullying our manager. He's been beaten a lot already there's still so many places we haven't beat him yet.
Ru: I think he's already broken all over.
A: Oh no... then what will I do now? I'll surely go back home crying after this lol. But seriously, my brain does not recognise what "Off-days" mean

Ru: I want to try out gardening potted plants!

--Gardening? You mean those decorative leafy plants don't you?
Ru: Ah- yes! And you can get little potted flowers too!
U: Those plants need a some tender caring. Cos most of them grow in the tropics...A: ... Please don't leave your plants by my house when you decide its too mush of a hassle for you...
Ru: But they'll provide you with the goodness of negative ions!
A: I already get them! I get them negative ions when I open my windows!
K: Eh wait- I thought Ruki got a turtle as a pet?
Ru: Not anymore
U: Oh! Maybe I should get some guppy fish as a pet?
Re: Then when you get back home after a tour, they'll become fish bait

--Did you know they have vending machines selling small fishes?
U: Oh really? I really want them tropical fishes. They're really pretty~
Re: I want to get a dog.... But I guess I can't get them from those vending machines you talk about, right? But I don't think I can do it...I mean- Whenever I get back home after a tour I'm always out cold. I dont think I can take care of a dog
Ru: The word is 'neglect'. You'd probably end up sending the dog to your parent's house.
Re: Lol no. I definitely won't neglect the band and our tours. I mean- I won't be at home for 24 hours so...
K: Are you saying that if the dog won't die in 24 hours without someone taking care of it, you'd keep it?
U: Y'know, you can just bring the dog along with us during the tours.
A: I don't think the hotels are going to let the dog in lol
Manager: Eh wait wait wait. Whose going to take care of the dog when you guys are on stage?
U: Oh woow- won't it be super awesome if the dog can stay near the stage wings and see us perform? That would be soooo cuutee!!
Ru: Lol, that would really get the crowd riled up!

-Kai, what about you?
K: I already have a dog. But he's a sweet old guy with blurred vision and sense of smell lol
Re: How old is your dog?
K: 15 years old
Ru: Wow, what a live your dog must have then.

-He's part of the family.
Re: Do you bring him out for walks?
K: Yeah, I bring him out for walks. But because his eyesight is bad, even if we're just walking straight he'd surely bump into things lol
A: .... Tell me no more of this sad story... Oh how painful....
Everyone: *silence*........................................
