Brooke and I are totally up for it. Maybe we could do a sleepover after.

That would be awesome! Maybe Lisa will come too. Tony has also said he might come, but I have a feeling that he won't commit to it.

But still, even if it's only you, me, and Brooke, it's better than going alone - something I don't think I'm nearly fearless enough to do.

Now we just have to plan our posters and attire. Attire plans will probably have to wait for a few weeks, so we can get a better handle on what sort of weather to expect.

I think that we should come prepared with fliers. I'll gladly pay for some copies. I really like this one: http://waffleimages.nwpshost.com/files/77/77d2087d6a47351f38e7c38f9b14e41355ebc0ad.jpg (I don't have Photoshop, so I can't tell if they corrected the misspelling of "Torah.")

I'm all for going in street clothes or business clothes with masks/scarves over our faces. And taking Metro in; apparently people did get followed to their cars. SERIOUS BUSINESS

The flag is made of win! Is March 15th another worldwide thing or just a DC thing? There's gonna be such a higher turn out on a Saturday :D Better read up a bit more so I don't look like a sheep...

It's apparently another worldwide thing, but hey, even it if'ts just in DC it will garner attention. (Plus, it's right before St. Patrick's day, so there are bound to be tons of people wandering around Dupont Circle.)

I suggest you start at Operation Clambake - www.xenu.net

You can design us a spiffy poster to hold. Think Travis (or anyone else you know) would like to come?

I can ask if they want to join, I'd hate for them to miss out on all the fun. Sadly, I don't know that many of them know the much about the Internets ;_;

...Maybe I can entice them with cake.

Honestly? That's good. This is a protest about a glorified cult slash business venture being given tax-exempt status and protection under the law. I was really against all of this at first because I was convinced everyone who showed up to the protests would act like total jackasses, but everything was amazingly subdued. That's why I want to take part in the next go-round, because I truly believe in this, not just "for the lulz."

These are the first pictures of the protest I've seen. Our power went out last night so I didn't see if it was on the news either. I love the Anonymous flag. I still think I'm too much of a coward to go to one of the protests though.

Pretty sure it wasn't on the news. For such a huge worldwide event it got zilch in media coverage except from little hometown stations; nothing on CNN, Reuters, etc.

Yeah, I did some more looking around after I saw your post and noticed that.

I didn't know these protests existed but I'm happy they do!

I didn't know they existed until this morning, either. I was amazed; I thought they were still only trying to "hack" the Scientology websites and stuff. Knowing that they existed, though, is enough for me to want to join in next time around.

why are you so bent on protesting against this religion? i just ignore it. sure, a couple of celebrities are into it, but it's not like it's that widespread. it's not influential at all to the general public. just let these silly people participate in their cult.

if we should protest for anything, as i said in your previous post, we should protest for making the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster an official religion.

...I think you need to take a trip to http://www.xenu.net and educate yourself on the subject.

The religion is all fine and good; people have every right to believe what they want to believe, and many do it outside of the Church's control. (They refer to this as "Free Zone.") The "Church," however, is nothing more than a moneymaking venture employing mind control and harassment to keep people in line; it is a church in name only. It doesn't deserve tax exempt status from the US government.
