A belated birthday fic(bit) for kelseypaige, my MFH and grammar dominatrix. Jaeho, of course. Ridiculous fluff, of course. I'm much better suited writing Suju porn than I am writing Jaeho nuptials, but I hope you like it anyway! ILU♥!
Le Mariage
pairing: Yunho/Jaejoong
About a month after their debut, they have a conversation that goes like this:
"Yunho, when we get married, I think I want Changmin to be the flower girl."
Yunho has long since gotten used to Jaejoong saying crazy things, but still. "What?"
"I know, I know what you're thinking-he's not the flower girl type at all, and yes, it might make the ceremony seem a little bit ridiculous, but just think of how pissed off he'll be! How can we resist a chance like that?"
Jaejoong looks at him expectantly, and he shakes his head slightly, vainly hoping to physically dispel the crazy. "Jae. What the hell are you talking about?"
"Um, our wedding? Try to stay with me here, Yunho," Jaejoong chides, as if this were simply a question of Yunho not paying attention. "So, Changmin is the flower girl. What should we have Junsu do?"
"Jae, we can't have a wedding," Yunho says in his most reasonable tone of voice.
Jaejoong frowns. "Ok, now what the hell are you talking about?"
"Men can't marry other men in this country, Jae. The law says that marriage is between a man and a woman," Yunho explains patiently, as if to a small child.
Jaejoong's frown deepens. "Fuck the law. Do you think I'm going to let the law get in the way of my marriage? No, fuck that. Now, about Junsu-"
"But what if I don't want to marry you?" Yunho tries.
Jaejoong's eyes narrow, and Yunho realizes that that question was a mistake. "Well, luckily, you do. But let's just say you didn't." If glares were daggers, he thinks, the police would need to use dental records to identify him at this point. "I'm not going to let the law ruin my wedding-do you really think I'd let something like your cold feet rob me of my happily ever after? No, we're getting married, Yunho, and I don't want to hear any more of your bullshit on the subject."
Yunho swallows, nods.
The rest of the conversation goes more smoothly. After Jaejoong nixes Yunho's tentative suggestion that Junsu sing at the ceremony ("What, and show me up, on my day?" he sputters), they agree that he can be Yunho's best man, and then decide that Yoochun should play the piano, preferably soulfully and while wearing sunglasses ("Like Ray Charles!" Jaejoong exclaims). Then the conversation is over, and Yunho is vaguely mortified for a week before he manages to forget that it ever happened.

It's just as well that he does, because in the end, their wedding doesn't happen like that at all.
The five of them fly to Paris from Beijing, ostensibly for a few days of respite and meditation before they end their Farewell Tour back in Seoul. Changmin gets ordained on the Internet and marries them on the balcony of their hotel room, the only additional guests Yoochun, Junsu, the red geraniums growing in the window sill of the balcony across the street and the chairs of the empty bistro on the street below. Junsu cries, and Yoochun calls him a girl in between his own sobs. Jaejoong and Yunho spend the rest of the weekend painting Paris in kisses-they embrace at the top of the Arc de Triomphe, on the banks of the Seine, on the lawn in the shade of the Eiffel Tower, under the inverted pyramid at the Louvre-and then they fly back to Seoul with slightly swollen lips and matching silver bands.
Halfway through their final concert, Jaejoong sidles up to Yunho, points towards Changmin, who is receiving a bouquet of roses from a fan, and mouths something. All Yunho can make out is flower and girl, but before he can ask for clarification, their first conversation about marriage pops back into his head for the first time since they had it.
He smiles. Then he laughs. Then he drags Jaejoong into the spotlight, cups his face in his hands and kisses him until he's deafened by the roar of the crowd.
