How is it that there are twelve days of 'Christmas'?

...There are twelve days of this 'Holiday' ?

Must it be your 'true love' that donates the presents to you?

holidays, christmas

It seems to be a Children's Book.

There are very strange gifts within it, Kamui.

Why were you reading a children's book?

...Like what?

Because I was curious and it was interesting.

"Ten lords a-leaping, nine ladies dancing" and many birds.

It's a Christmas song, it's pretty popular in the United States.

Hm, I think it's twelve days because it takes place on the 14th of December? I'm not quite sure, it's a strange song...who gives people French hens and milk maids as presents?

'United States'?

I agree that it is a very strange song. So 'Christmas' last for twelve days then? Are those not gifts you would normally give someone?

The United States of America.

I'm not really sure, maybe it's about trying to stretch the holiday out to make it last longer? Who knows.not where I'm from

Ah. But Miranda-san was making gifts. This books does not have the person making the gifts but giving strange things to their loved one.

It is not that it is strange... it is just confusing. There are so many holidays for many different reasons.

It's a song, but, it has a bit of history behind it.

And no, it should be able to be friends doing it instead of true loves.

Ah. Do you know the history behind it?

So you give your friends these presents?

It goes from the 25th of December to the 5th of January. It's known as Christmastide. It was mostly a 12 day celebration of Christmas with the presentation of Christ at the old temple. I'm afraid it's mostly historical, but because of that, it's been put into a song like the one you mentioned. But yes, you're able to give your friends gifts.

I hope to give my friends lots of gifts this year.

No... The 12 days represent the amount of time it took the Wise Men to arrive and bring their presents for him. I think.

But the tradition varied a lot since then and that's just a song. Like "I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In." It doesn't mean all ships have to arrive at port in threes.

That is a nice song.

...Smoker-san, may I inquire as to what 'Christ' is?
