My roommate once called Korea the “Land of Umbrellas.”  The longer I stay here the more I tend to agree; however, an ongoing series of events have inspired me to somewhat amend his original statement and re-dub Korea “The Land that EATS Umbrellas.”  (Dun-duh-duuuhn ::lightening sounds in distance::)

Over the duration of my stay in Korea I’ve lost ( Read more... )

The Land of the Morning Calm is one of the greatest places on earth :) Though, I'm sure you learned that on your own. (I was stationed just east of Munsan, relatively close to the friends to the north ;) )
Been to the Coex Mall much? How bout Lotte-World? Fun places, indeed :)

Korea definitely kicks ass; I've traveled a little, but nothing like I should have. To date, I've been to Coex (maybe) twice and Lotte-World about 0 times -- though this will hopefully change before I leave in December.

Cold? serafino November 13 2004, 14:26:12 UTC
I was there from Oct 2000 to Jan 2002. Needless to say, I experienced "The worst winter in 27 (or 35, depending on who was reporting) years." >< Cold, heck yeah it gets cold there. And that's saying a lot, since I'm from the U.P.

Wants to become? No, no, no. You've got it all wrong. Michigan is ALREADY the State Superior :P j/k ;)
Just making a point. I'm originally from Michigan, but the ROK can even make people from the UP get COLD. *note the caps* >

I laughed all the way through this one. Maybe you're a bad umbrella owner and they get up and walk away from you. My umbrellas aren't that smart, they just break an arm so they don't have to work anymore. Unruling things, umbrellas.

Quick question: Do you like kimchi, yes or no? (personally, I think it kicks ass :D )

It's taken me a while to warm up to kimchi. At first it was a bit too spicy for me. Now, if I don’t eat kimchi with Korean cuisine it’s just not authentic.
