Updated: 21 Jan 2020
This is all of my current Works in Progress.
See
this post for a list of fics posted since I started listing these WIPs (not updated properly though as of today's date, and needs some fixing. I have yet to find time to work on it properly).
Fandom Fic
Hawaii 5-0
1. Moving On, Perhaps...: Steve/Danny, Steve/Chin
Summary: This is Part 6 of the
Revelations series, following on from
This is Now, and has Steve remembering more of his past relationship with Chin and explaining things to Danny.
POV: Steve
Word Count to date: around 3K
Expected length: Could be considered finished, but there seems to be more to come in the series...
2. Drabbles for Kaige (working title) : Steve/Danny
Summary: A series of scenes setting up for some reaction drabbles from Kaige as Danny.
POV: Steve
Word Count to date: 800
Expected length: 1K?
Narnia RPS
3. Explaining the Obvious: Angsty and sexing between Ben Barnes/William Moseley with a little Skandar Keynes threeway action on the side. Ben/Skandar may develop from there.
Summary: Ben and Will are in a relationship they've been hiding during the course of filming 'Prince Caspian'. Skandar becomes suspicious and then increasingly interested in what's going on that he's missing out on.
POV: Ben
Word Count to date: 10,669
Expected length: maybe 20K?
Original Fic
4. Boys of Summer: Sequel to
End of the Innocence; Doug and Jimmy after ten years have passed. Roy and Sherri both feature in this story too, but a few new characters are introduced.
NB: The original story is locked to only those who were interested in reading, in the hopes I'd publish one day - it hasn't happened yet, but I'm keeping it locked in case I ever get my act together. This doesn't mean I won't share, so if you are interested in the original VERY LONG fic, do let me know and I'll friend you so you can look at it.
Summary: Jimmy feels like things haven't changed much in his life since he and Doug were separated ten years earlier, but Doug seems to have found something very different to what he - or anyone else - expected for his future.
POV: alternates between Jimmy and Doug
Word Count to date: 18,486, in four & a half written chapters.
Expected length: The original fic was 71 chapters but I'm aiming to make this one a lot shorter. Each chapter is longer, but ideally it'll go to around 25 chapters or so, with a total word count of 100K or less.
5. Future 2043 (working title) or 'Paul's Diary': 21 year old Paul is alone on a farm in New Zealand after a fatal flu decimates the planet's population.
Summary: People turn up at the farm every so often and Paul gladly welcomes them in at first. James is the teenage son of an older couple who take over running the increasingly organised community, and Paul falls for him hard. James's parents don't approve and life gets quite complicated, especially when a pair of teenage brothers and some unusual adults turn up and cause problems that almost prove Paul's undoing.
POV: Paul, with odd comments from James from time to time
Word Count to date: 26,034 in diary form (unusual for me)
Expected length: about 50K, perhaps. I know where this one will end though, so it's a matter of just working towards that, so it could vary greatly.
6. Ghosts/So (working title/s): Teenage angst between friends, featuring an abusive relationship between an adult and a teenager, so a little dark in places; set in NZ
Summary:David discovers his friend Mark has been abused, and not just by being beaten. He's horrified, to say the least, and wants to help. What he didn't count on was that Mark is gay, and that maybe his own feelings for Mark go beyond friendship.
POV: David
Word Count to date: 4,098
Expected length: Could be around 10-15K, I expect. Another one I know where it finishes, so hopefully I can get it there eventually.
7. Objects of Desire: Futuristic story set 200 years after an apocalyptic event on Earth known as 'The Undoing'. Women are scarce and protected; men in the two known countries have set things up in very different ways in order to survive.
Summary: A delegation from Guaya arrives in Aumethia to discuss exchanges of ideas and materials in order to progress both countries beyond the sometimes primitive methods they've both had to adopt to survive in a dry and resources-limited world. The Guayans are shocked by the liberal lifestyle they encounter, but they're not without a few surprising secrets of their own. An Aumethian expedition to find necessary minerals in wasteland outside the cities - which includes a couple of the Guayan visitors - encounters something unexpected. While this is going on, in the Aumethian women's city a girl learns about men firsthand for the first time, and dreams of a life without the pressure to reproduce, hoping that one day she'll get outside of the protected walls.
POV: Various
Word Count to date: 45,609 in 11 chapters; eight have already been posted
here.
Expected length: Between 50-60K at a guess.
8. The Blind Leading the Blind (working title): Vampire prostitute story set in early 1900's Britain
Summary: Bertie's a working boy of 18 when he's turned by a very foolish vampire, who promptly goes on to incinerate himself without telling Bertie anything. However, soon he's paid a visit by none other than the Keeper of London, who wants to teach Bertie more than how to find pleasure now sex is no longer his main source of satisfaction. Bertie's not about to stop letting men screw him though, and it appears he knows something the keeper doesn't.
POV: Bertie
Word Count to date: 7,006
Expected length: 50K perhaps? Seems to need it somehow.
9. Saved by the Sea (working title): Two boys in Seventies New Zealand try to find their pregnant friend.
Summary: Hemi, Simon and Cathy have been inseparable friends since childhood. Now in their teens, the unthinkable happens: Cathy gets pregnant. She won't name the father, but her parents assume it's either Hemi or Simon, and send her away to have the baby before adopting it out. Hemi and Simon are lost without the third side of their triangle, and aim to find her before she can give birth.
POV: Hemi
Word Count to date: 2,756
Expected length: 25K?
And as ever, I am behind on updates, behind on writing, and until I finish a few more of these, I am trying (and often failing) not to start anything new.
1 fic completed and yet to post: Maintaining the Distance (H50 Steve/Adam sequel to
Blinking Against the Distance)
If anyone has any thoughts about any of these stories, please feel free to comment, no matter when you see this. I write in spurts and usually on whichever fic takes my muses at the time, which is not very organised, but that's me.
