From Funimation's Ouran website:

"You can catch episode 1 with Vic and me at 2pm on Sunday at Nan Desu Kan in Denver THIS COMING WEEKEND!"

OKAY, SO, NOW YOU'LL ALL KNOW WHERE I'LL BE AT 2 ON SUNDAY. OKAY? MMKAY.

Lame entry is lame, I know.

I know, I know, but I can't help my fangirl leanings.

Besides, even if it's a trainwreck, I want to know. I already have the DVD preordered, but.

*also offers up the fact that not all of the panels she's planning on going to concern voice acting?*

Uch, it's not just that I don't like dubs. I support Ouran getting subbed and dubbed and all that. It's just that even if I liked dubs, this would still make me cringe. Vic is always getting cast in roles that don't fit him at all. I mean... Tamaki? Hell no. His voice just don't work.

Plus his personality just grates on my nerves. Always preaching about God, trying to force it on people, and he can be so immature. Normally an actor's personality doesn't matter to me, but I think dealing with him personally has really left me biased. Jeez, the few times I spoke to him on AIM, I wanted to locate his address just to kick his ass.

Yeah, I know. I used to be a big fan of Vic's, but he's sort of lost me with the way he behaves. The preaching about God I don't mind since I'm a Christian myself--I actually sort of LIKED that at first--but to me there's a big difference between saying you're beliefs and things like about how he feels really blessed, and then going around and shoving his opinions down people's throats. In the end he's hurting more than helping, and that bugs me. I don't think it's a very good example.

EDIT: I should clarify, when I say "I don't mind preaching about God" I mean I don't mind and actively enjoy people expressing their beliefs at appropriate times--even those I agree with. (I'm 99% sure that Chris Patton and I are on entirely different ends of the political scale, for example, but I wouldn't mind him bringing something like that up if he wasn't bashing or forcing it.) But what bugs me is Vic being a little forceful about his opinions and--particularly--assuming things about shows he's been in just because...he's been in them. That ( ... )

I saw a clip of it on youtube. H-honestly, I didn't think they were that bad. (Yeah, even Vic.) It's the first ep, so they're a bit rough.. but otherwise I think they sounded good.

Yeah, me too actually, although it was hard to hear over the fangirls screeching NOOOOOO. XD;;; Funimation has released an official trailer, but the only voices you can hear on it are Tamaki's and a bit of Haruhi's, and...mmm, I dunno, those are the two I've been kinda the least impressed with so far and i keep going back and forth on if I like it or not. I think Tamaki I can get used to. I thought what little I heard of Haruhi was fine, but one of my friends got a chance to hear more of the voices and she's having a fit over Haruhi, so I really have no idea how that's going to come down.
(Ironically, Vic was my first choice for Tamaki when I first watched Ouran...)

Either way, I'm watching the dub when I get the DVD, because (1) Greg Ayres and (2) Luci Christian. XD;;; But I'm curious about seeing it early and being able to give an honest opinion.

Caitlin Glass. She's the director of the dub so she's the one that writes the blog I was c/ping from.

Of course! I'm sure I'll be posting something up on my LJ about it. Unless I get lazy.
