chrnocrusade because I don't want to be mean or start a flame war. But I have to get this out of my system, guys.
Chrono Crusade is getting reprinted in Japan with all-new covers! This is exciting! So I'm already freaking out about this.
But guess what I saw on the new cover?

I don't have a direct source for either version, though, just a lot of second-hand stuff. That being said, though, if it was really because of a copyright problem with Chrono Trigger, I'm sure that would still be active because that's a hugely popular game that Square-Enix still holds the rights to. They probably still wouldn't be able to put the "O" in if it was a copyright issue. So I'm guessing the "Moriyama made a mistake" story is the correct one.

Apparently, what someone dug up for me while I was...having a tiny debate over this on the comm, is that poor Moriyama-sensei actually spelled it wrong himself when he made the logo, and it wasn't caught until the first volume was printed, and at that point he was just sorta stuck with Chrno. Poor guy.

Poor Moriyama was really taking a while to save up for that O.
But he saved up enough he was even able to get the extra flames package.
