I don't really have one. I seem to be the one who always takes the initiative to friend others, so I've never had anyone ask before. Yay! *goes to friend you*
Hey, seeing as how we both leave lots of comments for pottergirl26 I thought I may as well comment so you might add me to your friend list because I suspect we also have a lot in common like pottergirl26 and I do.
Hey, I went to Tech some years back. Your interests list is awesome. What do you recommend for Celtic folk music? My favorite group is Dervish, although Solas and Catriona MacDonald are also splendid.
It seems as if you are a bit more up to date with that than I am. I merely know that I like it a lot. I've heard some Altan, and some of the Dubliners, but other than that, I can't remember exactly what I've heard. Anything you'd reccommend?
Well, the ones I listed (you can find samples on amazon.com) are all good, although I like Solas's traditional period (first three albums) a lot better than their more recent sometimes-boring folkpop stuff. There's also Bill Jones (British trad/folk singer) and Eileen Ivers (Irish-American fiddler). I'm not a huge expert either; I've just picked up on them from CDs at the library and various internetradio feeds.
But hey, don't take my word for it; check out these video clips of Dervish in action: Clip 1 and Clip 2
