Other than Honeycrisp, what is your favorite kind of apple? I like 'em more crisp than soft and more sweet than tart (though can take a little tartness).

Love Braeburns, which are sort of a sweet/tart thing, but not too tart. Regeants are great, but the only place I've ever found them are at Pine Tree, and they're fairly tart. Galas are probably my favotite sweet apple. I also like Fujis.

I like Pink Lady apples - they have a bit of tartness to them.

I also like Granny Smith - but usually just for baking.

I like a good Pink Lady better than a Honeycrisp...

Of course for the purposes of throwing at other people, the Honeycrisp have a better size and hardness...

I agree about the Braeburns and Pink Ladies, and also I'd add Golden Delicious. My parents made it a Christmas tradition that, in addition to candy, they'd score us some bigger-than-your-first apples from a special produce store. Those Golden Delicious apples lasted longer in memory than a lot of LifeSavers books and M-filled candycanes.
