Why do people think it's acceptable to say, "You look tired" to someone?
I'll admit, I'm guilty of that. For me, it's part of the "I'm don't know you well and don't know what to say, but I feel like we should be having a conversation," thing.

Well, it is a lot more polite than "Boy, you look like sh*t". That, and it's probably a less "touchy-feely" way of saying "I'm worried about you - is there something wrong?"
