I think one of my favourite subtleties here is the understated equality, especially for this time period. The whole grandiose ideal that "everyone's trying to rightfully (or mostly rightfully?) scratch out his own living" and the townspeople trust Terezi enough to appoint her as judge when another troll is running amok shooting her sherrif and robbing her banks. It's not a big explicitly-stated deal
