If anyone's up for it, how about some show and tell about the nightmares? ...I'll share mine on the board if anyone's interested in sharing theirs. Maybe there's a connection.

All I've been able to figure out so far is that it's only happening to people who are in the city.

Hm. That's a start at least.

The question is why.

Who knows? What reason would someone have for trying to give people nightmares? It doesn't really do anything but torture us.

The Organization's involved. Hard to tell.

But it is wearing us down since we're not sleeping well. And what better way to see what makes us tick than to see what still bothers us?

Similarity is no guarantee of connection.

You're right. But I'm not going to risk losing information that might help.

What have you heard so far?

Just that this is only happening in the city.

Do you really think that'll help? [because if it will, she'll share, but otherwise...]

...I don't know. But I'm willing to share mine first if other people will.

[Xion thinks about it for a moment. Riku... knows abut this anyway, so if there's a chance it would help, it should be ok, right?]

In mine... Roxas died, and his power went into me and because it was supposed to be the other way, Sora didn't wake up, and Xemnas... [she trails off, but Riku can probably guess the ending on his own.]

[There's silence a moment, but when he speaks, there's a distinct tone of understanding.]

...Mine wasn't so straightforward, but the basic idea's clear. [He pauses again. Does Xion know? ...Everyone else does, one more makes no difference. It's clear the dream bothered him.]

I dreamt I had power over flames. Sort of like Axel, but I could become a huge white-hot firebird. King Mickey told me to protect Disney Town, so I did. Nothing could get past me. But I kept setting the area outside town on fire, so I moved to a mountain. Why I didn't just stop using the fire a while I've got no clue. Dream logic. While I was up there, an army came. Their armor was black and polished until it shone in the light. I took them all down... The first helmet I looked into, I saw my dad. Then Kairi. Sora. Mickey. Mom.

[There's silence before the recording shuts off.]

What kind of connection do you think there could be, Riku?

No idea. For all I know it's connected to being prolonged exposure to this snow. That'd have "Vexen" written all over it. But right now, I want to find out what I can.

Hmm... I guess that could make sense. I mean, my nightmares are just kind of.... sad. And frantic.

Mine are trying to keep me stuck in my past.

The past. Things going wrong. The usual sorts of things, at least for me. And they weren't a problem until I got back in the city proper.

Mistakes. The things I might've done or failed to do. But I don't usually have nightmares about that. Or usually remember my dreams. Looks like this isn't happening anywhere else.

Sounds like they're picking at things that were already there, instead of dropping in something from scratch.

I wonder if there's something in the city that's doing it and it can't work past the walls.

Good point. Now if we could figure out why...

The city itself is pretty old, I think. There are the ruins around it, too. Like a spell that's on the architecture itself? Maybe linked even to the city's age? [He's grasping at straws, and he knows it.]
