It's so lonely 'round the fields of Athenry

Just watched the series finale of Prison Break. Figured that I had to rant now.

I'm going to be saying a lot of spoilers, so don't click if you want to watch the show without knowing some major things that happen.

So, wow. What the fuck.

I'm not quite sure what to think, actually. The first two seasons of Prison Break were amazing, even though there were a few deaths I was quite upset about (John, for example). I wasn't too impressed with the third season (and stopped watching a quarter of the way through because 1. I thought Sarah was dead and 2. I didn't have enough time). After watching it in its entirety, though, it was all right. Not as good as the previous seasons.

Then I watched the fourth season, which was pretty bitchin. I really liked the setup of what was going down, and what everyone's objectives were and how they were all together for a common (uncommon?) goal. I was genuinely intrigued by it and the new characters (even though Don Self is a bastert...but has a cool name). I thought, overall, it was a pretty good season.

There were a few things that bothered me, though. Sucre's story sort of...left. I mean, that was all right in a sense, because it's like how Desmond's story is pretty much (I hope) over with in Lost. Go be happy with your woman and your child. Tara likes this. However, I still think that it was too sudden. I wanted to see more of Sucre and Michael being BFFLs.

Also: Wayne. Holy fucking shit, what a nightmare. I wanted that bastard dead so badly it made my chest hurt. And hey! He did. By ALEX. Yes. However, his character....hell to the no. I do not approve, and I do NOT approve of what the writers did. Alex child dying is no bueno.

And wtf happened to Gretchen?? I mean, I hate her guts and I was very happy to see her get shot, but still, psychobitch is a mother and has a family. They left her shot and STILL ALIVE. Did she just die where they left her or what?

Alex getting with the other FBI agent (forgot her name...) was random as all hell. Well, okay, maybe not random...but it was still a shocker. I mean, c'mon. You still love your wife. BE WITH HER. MAKE ANOTHER BABY!!!!
And one of the biggest things: NON-BLOOD BROTHERS WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! When Christina told Michael that he and Lincoln weren't actually brothers I wanted to shoot me some writers. WTF. SO NOT COOL. (I can see where it fits in the mother plot twist and all, but still. Argh.)

I was very glad to see Sucre and C-Note again at the end, though. And Paul Kellerman WTF? Congressman??? Jesus. Oh, and the general getting the death sentence at the end...very nice touch, there. I approve, but it was somewhat disturbing.

T-Bag...I have mixed feelings about. We saw him sort of getting reformed, and we could sympathize with him and everything, but all the same he was a terrible man. I have a love/hate relationship with his character, actually. And if he had gotten a happy ending, I actually would have been happy too, no joke. But instead he goes right back to prison (I think it was Fox River, even) and loses all chances of reforming. I mean, we sort of saw that there was no hope left after the Company got a hold of him, but still...I think he could have changed. He went full circle in this show. It's interesting, actually.

Don Self ending was sort of sad. That scene where they killed his wife was terrible. I hate Don Self for being the leak and getting everyone into deeper shit, but at the same time, that was just awful. And what happened to him...wow. Also a bit disturbing.

Sarah and Michael baby = ftw. Michael nosebleed = not ftw. And just when I thought it couldn't get worse...

They had to kill him. They had to kill Michael, even though he's gotten all that he wants. He has his beautiful girlfriend/wife, a son, his "brother"'s alive, what more could he ask for? So of course the surgery didn't work (STUPID COMPANY) and of course he dies.

Oh my god. Why. Just...why.

Michael has been one of my favorite T.V. characters since I was...I think in sophomore year of high school. Overall, in any media, he is one of my favorite characters of just...everything. I do not approve of this. I severely do not approve of this. I honestly sat there and cried for a good ten minutes.

So...now Scrubs had ended, Prison Break has ended, and Lost will end next year in its last season. All my favorite shows are ending. Tara dislikes this to an extreme amount.
