- started to feel a little warmer towards Wheatley when he disengaged himself from his management rail
she may have still felt a bit raw about the constant BRAIN DAMAGE jokes, but the fact that he was willing to risk death (even if the whole thing was a lie) to help get them out of there got her respect

- she is, in fact, rather insulted by the idea that she's not solving them "correctly" or picking the "worst" ways to solve them
- she is also incredibly insulted by the implications that he's gone and found a replacement for her, that he didn't even check if she was dead before looking into storage for other test subjects
- The Part Where He Kills You marks the big change in Chell's attitude toward Wheatley
mainly the fact that she gets upgraded from upset/frustrated into full-blown "I will hunt you down and tear you apart singlehandedly" mode

the same mode she was in at the end of the first Portal game

while being a test subject is not something she ever wants to return to, it's not exactly something she'll immediately start killing things to avoid -- if there's another way out of it, she's willing to pursue that instead
it's only when faced with the mashy spiked plates and repeated murder attempts that she decides that this is a course of action she needs to start considering
while not someone she was fond of at the beginning, what with him being insulting and Aperture Science property, she had slowly started thinking of him as a friend
the drop from the management rail earned her respect (he thought he was going to die and did it anyway to help them escape)
his "death" in GLaDOS chamber made her flashback to the Companion Cube's death harder than a Vietnam veteran
during The Escape he was genuinely helpful, his plan for disabling GLaDOS was actually a sound one (although she does end up doing all the work), and she enjoyed listening to his anecdotes
she liked Wheatley, truly and honestly
this was a betrayal of the highest caliber -- GLaDOS' treatment of her, while terrible and hurful, was something she could ultimately shrug off because GLaDOS is terrible and hurtful period and any fond feelings Chell has of her are because she can't quite let go of that initial imprinting from when she first woke up in the facility, whereas with Wheatley, this is someone who she considered a partner

who is now an ex-friend out to kill her by shooting her, blowing her up, and crushing her with giant spiked steel plates and a wall of blades
