You're not wrong about the wank. "They've picked a boy!" Well no he's 26 years old and by the time they start filming he may be 27. Two years younger then Peter Davison was when he became the Doctor and he turned out fine. Also Steven Moffat is a very experienced tv writer with quite a few hits on his hands and a Doctor Who fan from childhood. I think if anyone's going to be successful taking the show forward it'll be him.

I'm not really familiar with Matt either but I saw a few clips on the confidential and he looked good in those.

yeah, boy. *snort* not exactly. LOL

his interview was cute but his hair has got to go. someone commented that "the 80's called and the FLock of seagulls wants their hair back". bwahaha

am DLing some of his previous works. will keep you posted on what i think of his acting ability. ;)

Things I've learned today from the Doctor Who LJ community. Some people (not all) there think that puberty doesn't start until you're 30 years old. *g*.

Thank you.

Actually the hair could become another character in it's own right - kind of like Christopher Walken's. I have no problem with that, unless it upstages everybody else!

I don't get the wank about the new doctor. Until we see him AS the doctor, none of us know whether he'll really be able to sell himself in the role. :)

Now, the companion war we had on Twitter was a lot of fun. LOL

Twitter? me = out of the loop, then.

very true. i watched his interview but his hair kept distracting me. well, that and his very LONG fingers he kept waving about. ;)

I've seen him in one thing. I'd love to say I could immediately see potential, but actually, I'd forgotten all about him, and I never knew his name.

He wasn't any of the names which have been previously mentioned, and he's not well known, so maybe the wank will be limited. There's not much to say, apart from 'We'll all have to wait and see'......

i can bring with me two of the dramas he has been in over the past 2 yrs. two period pieces though not with a catchy title like "sex by simm". bwahaha

yeah he was totally not in the running which i guess is a good thing.

Well, I've seen one of them I think - are you including the drama which featured somebody else from the Whoverse?

oh, we know exactly what it means! So it's a good word to use for the way fans start to, um, entertain themselves, while they're waiting for the show to start....*g*

what T said. FWIW it really is used to explain all the whinging and nonsense about something before it can seen. like imagining how horrible it will be before it is even given a chance. fandoms are horrible sometimes.

Initial reaction: I like him... We'll see if that reaction will stick, but there is something doctor-esque about him... I'm kinda excited... And I don't really think his age will be an issue...

i don't really think age is an issue IMO. if he can act, he will be fine. ;)

:) Exactly!

btw... Twilight still takes up most of my night... both sleeping and awake...

I think that if someone were to listen to me talk in my sleep (although I'm not sure if I do talk in my sleep apart from the occasional sigh and sound), they would hear me say Edward's name... *sigh*

Yeah.. 11 hasn't crossed over into my dreams just yet.. will need to watch him act first I think... Have you seen him in anything yet?
