Yes, she does seem to be in a snit - not the best time to pour her thoughts out to everyone! She ought to have counted to 10 first, and given some thought to her responsibilities to her publisher.
ITA! Publishers of all kinds need to rethink their business models to take the net into account. The genie is out of the bottle, it's not going back in, and sending threatening letters to 'easy targets' like occasional downloaders won't fix that. They need to see the opportunities it presents, instead

Gotta say, I read the draft she attached to her post, and I don't think I'd like those books. Even if her plots make up for it, I'd keep getting my disbelief un-suspended by the mediocre writing. I'm a tad snobby when it comes to English, I admit it! *g*
She strikes me as a bit of a princess. Shit happens. She needs to get over it, and not punish her fans for it. At least she's so popular that people want to 'pirate' her stuff - that's a good thing, right?
the biggest problem with her books is that it takes a few chapters to get going. in all of her books the first few chapters are a struggle to get through but FINALLY it becomes interesting and less cheesy/poorly written.
when i started with Twilight, i was not going to stick with it b/c it was so very lame and then finally it gained momentum and became pretty well written. if only she could just find a way to start her books in a better way or something.

Basically, obscurity is the biggest threat to authors and artists, not piracy.
Shoplifting is a bigger threat than piracy.
