I think I need to take courses in telepathy and divination.  While Hogwart's hasn't sent me my letter of acceptance yet (chances they will are looking pretty slim at this point), there must surely be a post-secondary institution somewhere that offers such a course as part of their business school.  It appears to be a common pre-requisite during one ( Read more... )

tsk tsk... no, that would not be enough courses. You forgot the ones about Duplicating Effort, Poor and Counter-productive Communications Methods and How to Talk and Work in Circles.

Then you will be ready for middle-management. Getting in to upper management requires more courses that they have not enlightened us about yet. I'm pretty sure somewhere in there you have to take a course on screwing over your employees, though. If you really want to rise high, you need to learn how to convince other people that the mistakes were not yours, they were someone else's - bonus points if you can convince the other person that they mistakes were theirs, rather than a third party's.

Oh, and fewer projects = less money. Doesn't matter about the ROI (return on investment) of the projects, just that you can name a long list of impressive sounding things. That's why nothing ever goes away and dies.
