Last night I watched a documentary called Murder On A Sunday Morning. I thought it was very good. It actually made me think good things about our justice system. If only for an hour and a half. Well, to be more accurate it made me think horrible things for the first hour and twenty minutes. It was really only the last ten when I thought to myself " ( Read more... )

sounds like a good one to catch. i love it when i feel the need to fly through the tv and kick some ass. i always find those are the best cuz you are totally into them. and when you are absorbed like that you relate more and just tend to get more out of it.

yay for wanting to fly down to florida and kick some bastard in the nuts!!!

Movies are definitely more fun when you get absorbed.

You should be checking out Rabbit Proof Fence. They have accents. ACCENTS, Halie.

netflix doesn't think I'll like this, so I'm staying away...but if you haven't seen "In the Name of the Father", another true story like this (with accents...ACCENTS, Halie), then you should totally check that bitch out.

Actually, yeah, it doesn't strike me as something that would be your cup of tea exactly. I haven't seen In The Name Of The Father. Daniel Day Lewis is in that one, right? I shall have to look into it.

You should put it at the top...you'll <3 it...because it's a true story of people getting fucked by the cops...the EVIL, BRITISH COPS...with accents...ACCENTS!

OMG, Halie, I just watched this film, like, a month ago. I was SO blown away by it. I think the filmmaker did a wonderful job of not coming on too hard with his idea of how things should be, he stood back and let you make your own decisions.

I felt sorry for the victim's husband, you know he was so freaked out by everything that you can't really hold him responsible for everything that happened afterwards. Those cops, though, guy! I wanted to smack them around myself.

When people talk smack about lawyers (hey, I'll admit I like a good lawyer joke every now and again) or, more specifically, talk smack about defense lawyers, I think about people like the attorneys who defended this poor kid and I'm glad for lawyers.

Ah, I'm so glad someone knows what I'm talking about! I agree about the direction and about the victims husband. I'm sure he was horribly shaken. I doubt my own ability to correctly identify someone in a similar situation.

The last one that took the stand was this nasty little man with a horrible mustache. He was the detective that wrote the confession. He actually glared at the defense attorney during questioning. I wanted to fly down to Florida and kick him in the nuts.

Did you wanna kick him in the nuts ebcuase of the mustache or because of the glaring?

A little of both to be honest with you.

I try to not trust people with mustaches. I always think it must be so uncomfortable to have a small animal growing on your lip.
Well, then again my father has a goatee but he slides because his goatee is red and the man has never had red hair (or much hair, hence his current 'hit man' shaved head look.) Come to think of it, his eyelashes and eybrows are blond and his hair was at one time brown. strange.

You're right not to trust a man with a mustache. Just think of all the things he could be concealing in there. Its just not proper. Your dad's difference in hair colors isn't as odd as you might think. My uncles are like that. They are both blond but their facial hair comes in reddish.

I think goatees are a totally different ball of wax, though. They're more involved. You can tell the man is growing it for love of facial hair and not simply to create new look because he's on the lam from the Feds.

This is cheesy, but my take on all film is that if it inspires you to be better or to expect more from society then its done its job. There's nothing wrong with films that simply entertain, but I think this is nicer. And especially nice when its true events that inspire you. (Awww...)

I always feel better after watching something that reestablishes my faith in something or someone.
